![]() ![]() ![]() LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL! ! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *gulps air* ! That was a winner, right there. This chapter is up there in my favorites so far as this story goes. Imagine, all those times, Nef really did love Aurion in that light. And I had wondered that, since he was the one who brought out her first words in ages and since she followed him obediently. That was incredible. And he was too weak to resist, but in the end, he was smiling. Too bad Talanion didn't react that way when Nef "had her fun" with him. But I look forward to the next chapter. You said there was going to be a confrontation between Tal and Aurion, did you not? This should prove humorous, especially since Tal does not scare everyone's favorite Necromancer anymore, if ever. Oh, goodness. This was such a funny, relieving (they both found relief in this chapter, in many ways), powerful chappy. Oh, god. Words could not describe this. Well they could, but I would be writing the longest review since the dawn of time if I decided to break down everything I liked. Not a bad thing on the writer's end of this piece, but trust me, there's not enough time in the world to write what I truly want. So I leave saying this, and this is all you need to know: this is my favorite chapter in this entire story, and I will probably never find a chapter better than this in the remainder of the tale, and being as they're all great chapters, that's saying something. Seriously. -Yusef "The B.A.T." Pittman |
![]() ![]() ![]() I really, really liked this chapter. In some ways, I think, Aurion would have made a better mate for Nefertarin than Talanion. Of course, Talanion is younger and Destined for her, and as wild as Nefertarin is herself. But I think Aurion actually understands her better than Talanion does. I was surprised by the revelation that Nefertarin was ready to have sex with Aurion for its own sake, outside a ritual setting. I supposed I thought that since she was so jealous of Talanion having sex with other women, she couldn't conceive of having another sexual partner herself. One thing about this did seem unrealistic: That Aurion could have enough blood left in his body to have sex at all. But I suppose that since he's been bleeding for days without dying, he must have enough blood, or magical means of renewing the blood, for such a task. -Limyaael. |
![]() ![]() ![]() YES! YES! YES! The wards are saved! The Guild is safe! Oh, and Aurion finally gets a little bit of...happiness. That was certainly entertaining ;) He and Nefertarin had feelings for each other; there have been more than enough hints of it throughout the story. But I never figured that Nefertarin loved Aurion *that* much. Now he understands her a little bit more; she usually never lets anybody get too close to her. Nefertarin seems to have changed from how she was at the beginning of the story; she's less cold, less harsh, and less aloof. The same goes for Aurion. *Good* chapter...and not just because of the sex ;) |
![]() ![]() hiya there! *cough* isnt Tal a tad bit jealous? Aurion IS afterall Nef's closest friend in the guild. Almost like a father to her too. Wouldnt be the other kind of betrayal Tal is thinking of non? gah! i forsee dark times between the two. both stubborn and strong. hope love overcomes it all! Great work here by the way. Love it :) |
![]() ![]() Wow... I really liked the last part of thie chapter. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I like Talanion in these chapters. He's completely crazy, of course, but his motives make sense. I find Nefertarin a little harder to understand. I wouldn't have guessed at all that she wanted to avoid a spirit of a man who happened to die in front of her, probably since I wasn't thinking about that aspect at all. Wouldn't she be haunted by the spirits of everyone who died? Or is it just people who die a violent death? Of course, perhaps it's a cover for something else... I would have liked some deeper explanation on Talanion's immediate leap to the prophecy, but mainly that's because I'm allergic to the "mysterious knowledge" trick (despite certainly using it a time or two myself). Perhaps his logic will become clearer in future chapters. Oh, and I'm glad Lekinus got a clean, quick, honorable death. I always liked him better than Talanion did. -Limyaael. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I don't think Nefertarin necessarily 'betrayed' her brother; she's trying to help Aurion keep those wards from collapsing. But if she really is leaving Talanion for good, then perhaps now he will get what's coming to him. And the Guild's 'goodbye pesent' to their enemies...what a devious little scheme. I love it! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I'm glad to see Lekinus die honorably, rather than being tortured to death. He didn't deserve such a fate anyway. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Feranion's BACK! And knowing he lives through this is always reassuring, among other things, lol. It always seems that the necromancers get the last laugh, however morbid, doesn't it? Talanion could never come close to a last laugh like that, lol. And the idiot just keeps pissing Nef off. But he will learn. I'm now fearing for all the likeable characters' lives now, minus Feranion's. I still haven't figured out whether or not the twins will survive, or if Marevanus, the bard (his name escapes me right now), Kran, Aurion, or anyone else will survive. Now the climax is in play, and I can only hope for the best. -Yusef "The B.A.T." Pittman |
![]() ![]() ![]() All throughout this, I have really pitied Lekinus. And for him to go like this, as well as for Talanion to speak kind words over a fallen enemy (for once), that was truly an impressive sight. And the fact that he KNEW about the affair long before really says something. Alas, he's one of those interesting characters that you'll never truly get to know the way you really want. Like my Serth, and like Udaal (spoiler, unfortunately). But that was an excellent final verse to the incantation. I wish I could have heard the entire thing. Poor Lekinus, perhaps his soul will be happier now that he's finally free of the throne. -Yusef "The B.A.T." Pittman |
![]() ![]() ![]() Wow... Tal... if it weren't for his extremity throughout all of this, I'd be cheering him on. Semininass is definitely going to die, but at this rate, if Tal keeps knowingly torturing Nef like this, I may have to hope the weasel falls into the watery depths of death amidst the all-consuming fire. Pretty powerful, vivid, chapter. I feel sorry for the king, though. But Pentilus, that bastard... he deserved to die. Of course, I have mixed feelings about the method, but there you are. -Yusef "The B.A.T." Pittman |
![]() ![]() ![]() oh again. I like how you are tying in all the different lines of the prophecy its very effective, congrats on another fine chapter... |
![]() ![]() ![]() oh fulfilled prophecies eh? sounds good, i loved the kings death, it was very majestic, almost brought a tear to my eye... |
![]() ![]() ![]() KEEP GOING! So good! Sorry, couldn't think of anything else to say, need to absorb it all . . . _ I love this story! LoK |
![]() ![]() ![]() Man . . . intense. I'm choked up, and I'm not kidding. I'm sitting here reading, wanting to slap Umolitta (court women are so STUPID) and I've just been enthralled by Lekinus' character. That was great. Poor Nef . . . Talanian really is a bastard. hehe Doesn't mean he's not a cool character though. ja, again, LoK |
