Gorgeous. The use of 'here, by the side of the road' at both the start and the beginning is very effective - something I also love doing. There are so many things I like in this, I gotta pick a few or else write an essay .. *rereads* The first line - throwing up innocence - very suggestive and fitting metaphor. The deception that he was nice described as in the form of a pill - again, good choice of wording, also suggestive. 'Die with the words 'forgive me' on my breath' ... now that is great. Dramatic. Great work.
