i really like the imagrey i picked up reading this. definently original and deep. the opener's cool too as if faith could slip so easily where it may have took so long to become attached or grown to believe. the third line makes me think of a ring, you know how symbolic relics and crosses and trinkets can be in religions. as if the ring turned into an evil thing and slithered off the giant hand. but the one leaf in swirling waters makes me think of being steadfast in your faith, you know maning the storm in the face of destruction. so i'm not sure what to make of that. but hey i may have missed the point completely. great poem.
