![]() ![]() ![]() great story! love a happy ending. i think my favorite character is isabella's dad. he says the funniest things. anyone that can leave Mrs. Hastings speach less is definitely skilled. anyways, goos job with this story! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I had begun writing an anonymous review when i realized that i couldnt put your story in my favorites if i remained anonymous. so i signed in! anyway, i've been reading this story all day! i luv it! _ now could you PLEASE update "sense of propriety" soon? _ -Ti |
![]() ![]() I absolutely fell in love with Caleb. Oh, he's absolutely delightful! How I wish boys today were as wonderful as Caleb is. His romance friendship with Isabella is so sweet. I'm so glad they ended up together and married so cutely. That was a wonderful scene at the end. I didn't like Adam and Audrey as much, but I also loved Desmond and Madeliene. Their secret love was so suspensful. I couldn't help but smile at the conversation that Isabella overheard them say. I was so sad when Madeliene was like...I don't even care when they whisper that I'll die alone in my bed. I was like, Oh, Desmond. You better marry her... I'm so glad he did. It was very witty and well written. I dare say you should think of becoming a novelist. I really mean it. Keep writing more. Please come up with a sequel or write more like Defiance. I love your characters especially. And it seems to me like you've read Jane Austen, for you sound much like her. You probably don't care, but I love Mansfield Park and your story sounds something like it. I must confess that I love the movies about Jane Austen's novels more than reading them. But anyway, let me stop rambling and tell you that your story is wonderful. Keep them coming. |
![]() ![]() ![]() hmm, do i detect some parts of emma? i do believe that desmond and madeleine are secretly married! i'll be highly disappointed if i'm wrong! haha. this is a wonderful story so far |
![]() ![]() ![]() ::sob:: It's over! ::sob:: It's really over! ::sob:: And I haven't a hope of a sequal for a long time! ::Duck runs off to cry some more:: |
![]() ![]() ![]() ::cheers:: GO CALEB! Oh man, I'm sure that had been building up for YEARS! Too bad he's a gentleman and couldn't say worse about her! |
![]() ![]() ![]() ::smiles softly:: What IS it with Scotland? My pal from highschool met a guy while doing a 6mo college study in London - and then they eloped in Scotland! I just know I'm going to bawl in 5 chapters when this is over. I can't believe how good this work is. I'm dead serious, GET THIS PUBLISHED. I often read classical works online (hey, it's free!) and many times caught myself thinking about how I need to recommend my friends go find "this book" at the library! If you need literary contacts, I'm pretty well networked and could probably find someone. If nothing else, you could self publish and sell this novel yourself! I'd buy at LEAST 6 copies! |
![]() ![]() ![]() ::hums the theme to Mighty Mouse:: |
![]() ![]() ![]() ::chuckles:: My dear, you are Ms. Austen reincarnated! Who else could write such a hilarious piece! I could just picture Mr. Hastings rolling his eyes as his wife and daughter squawked at each other! :D I seem to remember having fights like that with MY mother! (not on this subject of course) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Methinks you've read Austen! This is not a derogatory comment! I LOVE Austen, and enjoy seeing her influence in today's writers! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Well! Mrs. Hastings sounds like a real snot. Thank God for the advancements made in the centuries previous that there isn't TOO much snobbery! Sounds like Desmond is something of a rogue like Adam. I just hope he doesn't think he could break up Caleb and Bella! I'll review the other chapters later today. It's 1am and I'm supposed to be at work by 7! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I love this story! |
![]() ![]() ![]() It's me again...I just had to say that the first meeting between Isabella and Desmond reminded me of Emma and Frank Churchill meeting...and then this secret engagement between Desmond and Madeline also reminds me of Emma. And the Hastings are so similar to the Bennets, it's amusing. I'm not sure if you did this on purpose or not, and there's really enough differences that it doesn't matter, but I felt the need to mention it. The whole story is just so Jane Austen, I love it. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Lovely story so far. You have such a nice writing style, and the plot is very Jane Austen-like. That comment on Mr. Hastings, about whether the horse "had got" Mrs. Hastings made me think of Mr. Bennet. Anyway, I will continue reading now, keep writing, because I'd love to read more from you. |
![]() ![]() I loved this story and whilst I wish there was more to come I do like the ending. I think I read one of your other stories awhile back but I can't remember which one- whatever it was I hope you continue with it because I thought the beginning was really good...And if you do end up writing a sequel that would be cool. |
