ok, i'm about to sort of rant, but not about the slash thing-no, about something horrible, a mistake that many, many authors make...

"I’ve heard so many pinks, purples, N’SYNCs, and Backstreet Boys I’m going to be violently ill."

well, you know what? that line made ME violently ill!

UGH! first of all-nobody likes Backstreet Boys anymore! we're in the 20s! and seriously, if Travis was at my school he'd be considered very, very cool! if you're going to rant about how horribly, mindnumbly annoying popular people are then at least know what the hell you're ranting about!

also, JOCKS ARENT THE COOL ONES! it's cool to be geeky! skinny guys can be 'hot' too! the most popular guy in my school wears tight jeans, is very, very skinny, and sometimes wears extremely short shorts and Monokuru Boo t-shirts! and my school is NOT artsy or weird, it's perfectly normal! it's filled with Abercrombie-lovers!

so, yeah, i haven't been making much sense, but still. know this: YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT WHEN YOU HATE ON JOCKS OR WHATEVER. NO, muscular jocks are not considered hot, NO, main-stream lovers are not all homophobes, different is 'cool'! and if you're going to pick on people's horrible taste in music then at least get with the program and make fun of the Ying Yang Twins or whatever.

really, i hate those people who try to show how different their character is, how misunderstood, but still how witty and calm and collected.

Oh this was so cute! The writing wasn't terribly good, but it was good in a cutesy writing sort of way. I liked it. *squee*

Wow I love this storie! It's so awsome.

Good beginning. I like the main character's narrative voice - he's believable as a teenage boy because he honestly sounds like one.

Biggest problem: The first two paragraphs. I honestly don't care what his background is yet. Tell me later, when I do care. Instead, throw me into camp with a pissed teen boy and get me to sympathise with him first, because then I *will* care what kinds of bastard his dad is.

Kieran sounds like fun.

On a tangent, it may be my French training, but spelling "Réz" that way doesn't make linguistic sense by the rules of French. If you were trying to get across the difference in pronunciation from just plain "Rez" (which, I think, would have a schwa), there are probably better ways to do again, I'm a bit anal about things like that, so feel free to stick duct tape over my mouth regarding this.

Did you notice that you just put "Blue s" in the list up top? You didn't say blue what. I mean, yeah, we know, but I thought I'd point it out. Though I'm sure somebody's already done so by this point. Ah well.

*growls at Travis* Stupid stubborn boy. I mean, yeah, the lunchroom confrontation makes up for it all a bit... But not nearly enough for my tastes. Meh.
