you did an awsome job defending your faith and it's awsome and you have no idea how much i agree with you especially with your intro. and i'm also glad you brought scripture is. i know that God will use you strongly and with your faith and your words you may open up many eyes.

i hope you don't get put down to much i do at school for believing in puritian and reformed baptist beliefs but also because i believe abortion is wrong. so i encourage you.

wow, glad to see there's still more of my kind on this planet. thank you for posting this essay. i was getting so tired of and fed up with arrogant people who walk around believing that if something isn't proven to be true (like God) it doesnt exist. People who go around saying that what their mind (which only utilizes 10% of its capabilites, btw)couldnt comprehend, like the methaphysical concept of the existence of God, could not POSSIBLY be real. They would rather believe this dude Darwin about our origins and creation, even though the great scientist himself withdrew his theory at his deathbed, and that several recent scientific researches debunk his theory, and still more support the creationist theory. i'm just so frustrated at people who let their harsh environment (ex, the reality of wars, crimes, injustices etc)SHAPE them and make them so cynical they are unable to believe in a god. they are so weak as to let external forces mold them and control them. so not existentialist. so once again i thank you for writing this essay. it's an oxygen tank of fresh air after being exposed to too much cynicism, arrogance and disillusionment of some people.

Okay Christians Listen Up!a) the bible is just a book written and re-written over the years. I could just as easily take lord of the rings and have faith in it!b) explain to me why your god continues to let wars be carried out in his name, why no one in the world cares about the rest of mankind, and why even those who claim to be a child of god, go against the 10 commandments daily!c) are you aware that your 'church' hides many of jesus' teachings because if seen, they would prove to be the fall of the disgusting hierarchy of the church? and finally, don't write me off as some bitter atheist, I was raised a christian, so I am well educated in the teachings of the bible. which is mainly why i don't agree with the - your new pope is a former nazi!

Although i am not a christian i am greatly impressed to find that there are still possibly some true christians out there. In my opinion you should not judge any religion by the people who follow it but rather the actual thing that they follow... in ur case the bible. Nowadays there are not many people who are still strong believers in any religion and you could say that religion is outdated. But i am happy to find that there are still some ppl who do actually practice christianity rather than just claim it. So basically nice essay! And although i don'y agree with you completely since im not a christian and i dont believe all of the christian teachings i do believe that you have made some valid points. As for the world ever becoming a better place doubt thatll ever happen!

Personally, I'm not a Christian, I don't believe in God but I have good morals. I hardly think it's fair that you are condeming everyone else that is not of the same religion as you to hell. This is not meant as a flame, but you have to remember that while you were insulted by the original article, so were others by yours. I haven't read the other article in question but I'm sure that they didn't condemn everyone Christian to some sort of hell.
The world is a wonderful place full of different cultures and religions. Many religions are very different and people don't believe in the Christian/Jewish/Islamic God but this doesn't mean that 'Humankind is Lost'.
We were not born innocent but on four legs, minut creatures with tails that inhabited trees. Through millions of years we evoloved, rose too two legs, created tools and discovered fire. Many people believe this and while you might not, you must remember that others still do.
I couldn't find the other article on anti-Christianism, but I'd love to read it. Although I don't believe in God, that doesn't mean I believe in slamming Christianity or any other religion for that matter. I believe in open-mindedness and unfortunately I believe that your article could of been much more open-minded.

Amen, sister. You've got it; you've inspired me and also helped me out a little with my faith in Christianity. A lot of people like to disrespect Christians because we aren't perfect and Christianity is the most popular religion in the US so yea, there are a lot of people who claim to be Christians just because they believe in God and go to church but once they're out of the church ground they sin like tomorrow is forever. And people use that against us, say we're hypocrites who go around sinning more than any other person... Excuses that are made to try and not believe.. It's so easy for people to blame the problems of the world on religion because a lot of people don't like the fact that they're going to have to serve someone other than theirselves.. including me. I have to accept that.
