Reviews for Confessions of a Harry Potter Addict
oncethrown chapter 8 . 12/28/2003
This is fantastic. You make very good points, your passion is contagious, and its just plain fun. I especially enjoyed deconstructing the series accoriding to the ideas of James Campbell. You have a wonderful style.
Mistress Blaed chapter 4 . 12/19/2003
Ah, it's so nice to read about someone just as obssessed as I am. (And I was quite like you at first, I refused to read it because that's what everyone was doing. Who wants to follow the crowd? But then my dad bought it for me because *he*'s obssessed with it, and now we're obssess together. Aren't parents grand? He actually waited at B&N with me until 2 in the morning to buy a second copy of the book.)
But, back to the essay at hand. You are just great, and insightful, and HILARIOUS! I loved your mocking of the e-mails sent, and was tremendously glad that I never received one of them, because I probably would have responded, and, being Pagan, I would probably have been slighltly irritated . . . um . . . ok, that was a lie. I would have been pissed and ranted at them. Which is what this is turning in to, so I'll leave you with this . . .
I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE SEXY MEN CHAPTER! (Because Sirius is simply the best!)
So, anyway, I loved it, and I can't wait for the next chapter. You are wonderful!

dilemma89 chapter 8 . 12/11/2003
As usual, absolutely hilarious. Have fun in college; don't stress out about getting a new installment out...we can all wait. Besides, this is WILLIAM AND MARY! Have fun! My chant right now is two more years til I can apply. 2 more years, 2 more years...
Your new HP fanatic friends seem, well...fanatic. But who isn't about Harry Potter? How could anyone NOT be a fanatic about Harry Potter? And James is the sexiest man alive!
dilemma89 chapter 1 . 12/9/2003
Hilariously funny. Ah, how well I remember skipping my English homework to read Order of the Pheonix for the twentieth time. Amazingly insightful; love the chapter about the Christians and our "Sexy Men". You can keep Sirius; I'll go for James, that sex god. I'm now not only addicted to Harry Potter, but also to your wonderful series of "essays"!
Ushi chapter 8 . 12/6/2003
Man, I wish *I* was in college. Or at least highschool. There's not many friends to choose from in a less-than-300 person school (that's kindergarten through eigth grade!). Meh.
This rules! I especially liked the religious bit, which has inspired me to resume arguing with religious fanatics on . I salute you. *wanders off to argue*

bobbysinblack chapter 1 . 11/13/2003
lol! i know how you feel! how could you be so ignorant though! why wait for a movie to proove whether the book is cool or not? you would have had your own image of what the book was like, not have a movie dipict it for you...think..your own harry, your own ron, your own snape! its great that your obsessed like the rest of the world's population including me! but u so should have started earlier! hehehehehe! sorry...ranting me...but really well written too, i was laughing out loud. :D
grim'alkin chapter 1 . 11/3/2003
hey, check out my bio, and you'll murder me. I'm an LotR freak, but before i was sucked in Middle-Earth, i was a major Potter-head. What stopped me? Well, LotR. When i started,i was a bit, well, bored- but man, the emotion at the end. . . i guess you don't care. Anyway- i read the first chapter (gearing to read the second) and i have to ask. . was does 'shag' mean?
Heelicop chapter 2 . 10/15/2003
I asked to touch the cover, too! I'm not as obsessed as you though. Some people hurried their children away as if I was a leper or something! Honestly...
Sammy-Lynn chapter 8 . 10/14/2003
Hey!

Thanks for the review on what you read of mine. Anyway, I think that this whole confession thing is a really cool idea! I might have to start my own (though I must say that I am not as crazed as you are...but that's a compliment!). I am totally in love with Harry's world, and sometimes when I'm reading I can't tell the difference between imagination and reality. It really sucks when you have to stop reading a HP book...it's almost like waking up from an awesome dream. Wow, I'm just rambling, and not reviewing, aren't I? ANYWAY! This is really cool. I like your analyzations, and I cannot wait to read more. I agree with you on almost everything! :) Keep writing, this is awesome.

~Sammy

PS - Read some more of my writing, if you want! :)
Bubblewrapped chapter 8 . 10/10/2003
This Harry Potter Fanatic would like to say THANK YOU (in bigger letters, but wont co-operate .
Just one in a million chapter 8 . 10/10/2003
Incredible... I just sat here and read chapters 1-8, barely blinking, laughing out loud, in which my mother raised her eyebrows as she passed by, shaking her head and muttering that she was going to lock away all my Harry Potter things and sign me up in some sort of sport. Oh, the terror!

Anyhoo, I feel like giving you a great big hug for you said (or rather wrote) out loud everything about Harry Potter that was buzzing around in my head, one thing trying to get more attention than the other, thus making me scream and wishing that I myself had Dumbledore's Pensieve (Does anyone else ever feel like that? Oh and I shall kick myself if 'Pensieve' was spelled wrong)

This all really made me think. How could I have been so STUPID as to not see in Book One that Neville was to have a bigger part than I estimated? Or, that in Book One Harry feels that sometimes Snape could 'read' minds, and -oh boy...- he sort of could! EEk!

I shall be waiting for an update, meanwhile I will begin my Internet search on what other people's theories are about what will happen (some are just too insane to be true, but hey- anything can happen when magic is involved O.o;).

So thank you and goodbye, my friend! .

Sincerely insane,

Just one in a million
Sunflower Philosophy chapter 8 . 10/10/2003
Yes, it's great to find fanatics who share the obsession! To my great displeasure, Harry Potter wasn't that well-known in my country when I was emotionally attached, so I was all alone... my friends got so sick of me it's a wonder they didn't murder me in my sleep.

Hmm. I should remember to thank them for that next time I see one.

Anyway, I wish you all good luck...

m~* Sunflower, anyone?
Selene Silverwing chapter 8 . 10/9/2003
OMG! LOL I never thought to use Alohamora on my car... I always did it when i'm walking through the sliding doors at a grocery store... though now that i think about it... its the wrong spell... *shrugs*

Keep up the good work and good luck in college :D
kristendotcom chapter 8 . 10/9/2003
I really like your essays! My favorite was the one "Play backwords for hidden Satanic Messages". It had me cracking up right in the middle of class! I agree with you too on most things. But I do however, think that Draco is incrediable sexy, but not the book Draco so much as the Draco played by Tom Felton. I think that is one of the main reasons why Draco is becoming sort of popular, its all Toms fault, lol. Take your time with updating, I have a hetic schedule myself, though im not in colleg yet. Hope you update soon!
Retlor chapter 7 . 10/9/2003
Another one! In my opinion Sirius is dead, its a pity as he was by far the coolest character, but he has past out of the realms of the living and there are a few reasons I beleive he will stay where he is.

1. Dumbledore says in book 4 'there is no spell can return the dead to life' (ironically it was Sirius who asked him, a hint my friend picked up on and correctly guessed who the deatn would be, and i lost £5 betting that it would be Ron.)

2. Returning him to life would just be Suvian, and having a Mary-Sue is something most fantasy wirters detest.

3. Don't you reckon that that was the way Sirius would have wanted to go. He was cooped up in the Black Manor all year and finally got some action. Whats more he died protecting Harry. I think he would have seen this as attonement for failing (as he saw it) Harry's parents. This is not something he would be raised from. That would defeat the object of a sacrifice.
