![]() ![]() ![]() Wow...I'm speechless. I think you were possessed by Poe's spirit or something...cause that was freakin' amazing. |

![]() ![]() ![]() This poem was absolutely beautiful. Your references to Poe were skillful, but your poem was independent of his work. You managed to draw from his style while still creating a unique tone of your own. Your metaphors and descriptions were brilliant. My only criticism would be that, at times, the meter seemed to be off, which made your rhyme scheme sound unnatural. Your meter also seemed forced when you put "did" in front of some phrases to make it work, such as "she did lay down," and, "her song did paint," and, "her azure eyes did pierce his own." You can probably get away with this a couple of times, but this sentence structure is too repetitive throught your piece. I hope I'm not being too critical (for I could never write such a good poem myself) but I think that if you just read it outloud to yourself and listened for breaks in the meter and unnatural sounding phrases, you could turn this poem into a true masterpiece. Toodles! -EternalSummer |
![]() ![]() ![]() There were several lines that didn't seem to quite flow, but I think it needs nothing more than a quick re-read. Absoloutly stunning, to say the least. The ending was perfect, actually gave me chills. The similarities to Poe's style are wonderful, as he is one of my favorite poets. I too, have tried to capture his eloquence and grace with rhyme but have never come close to anything so vividly clear and mythically sweet. Lovely work. |

![]() ![]() ![]() "But he still could not remember/That this dream was reality." Very nice. |
![]() ![]() ![]() awesome! I loved the end, and everything. I love the way you describe the lady and the scenery and everything .. Some of the lines are a little out of meter, and it would be so amazing if they all flowed together perfectly. ~Cora Windover |

![]() ![]() ![]() ... Wow... First of, let me say that is amazing! Its sad and deep and profound...the rhyme scheme worked very well, and the couplets were a nice touch. The ending was so sad! Um...in an odd way, when he's first chasing the angel, it kind of reminded me of a Skittles commercial...but you probably didn't want to know that. Great job! winged one |
