First off, great idea. DEFINATLY NOT what I was expecting. Your imagery was brillant and the emotions of your charcter were clearly shown throughout the whole piece. Loved it.

That was really cute. I won't say she's insane because this is the sort of thing I do. But, being a bit of an Amelie fan, I wish you'd made the ending happy! :) Since you wanted a comment on your writing, I think it's well-written throughout, but maybe you could put more visual details later on in the story. (The beginning had a lot of them, which was nice.) But it's excellent already.
