Reviews for Shelter from the Storm
A pagan chapter 1 . 9/16/2004
As if it will happen... I can easier see you Christian slaying us in the name of your Lowerd, as you always do...
Paranoia, persecution complex, psychopathy- how characteristically Christian

IHJ chapter 14 . 11/18/2003
*tapping my fingers on the table* Now, this story could be taken from so many different sides... There's the viewpoint of freedom of religion and liberty of living life as we want it then there's the viewpoint of "overzealous people who are willing to die for their religion/fanatics while God doesn't exist" and "the only true Christian are those willing to die" and so on and so forth. To tell you the truth, I find this story disturbing and somewhat scary in how people are willing to die for beliefs. Like soldiers, kamikaze and all. I don't know if I'd die for a BELIEF, an idea. I may seem hypocritical or not really religious (I'm not), but I think I'd only be willing to die to save somebody else. Throw myself in front of gun to save my sister, for example. She's the most important person in my life. I suppose that makes me believing and loving those of flesh and blood more than a diety.

Story-wise, Mr. Danielson's turnabout seem a bit too quick. Or maybe it does because I've read the chapter so far apart. Nice introduction of characters, not too jam-packed or confusing. However, I would like to see some fleshing out of the characters. Flaws and assets. So we also hate them at moments instead of liking them for their strength all the time.

I do apologize if this seems like a flame. It isn't.

Jen chapter 13 . 11/4/2003
wow, I am so impressed, amazing writing... this deffinately has published book potential... great work! i'll be anxious for more! I'm confused about Brandon, who does he really like? but that's such a minor detail... is it a problem when you feel like you should pray for someone, then realize they're a fictional character? D
CaffineAnonymous chapter 13 . 11/4/2003

IHJ chapter 12 . 10/30/2003
Cute, sweet chapter. Heartaches, but also...finding the right one for you. All the characters thinking the same thing and not doing anything until a few days (or the day before?) before Valentine's! Sweet.
