I thought it was very good. Nice flow. Kinda deep for standardized testing, eh? lol.
I think "perchance" works OK at the end. But, if you really don't like it, you could always look in a thesauraus (wow, I can't spell that word) to find another one. Maybe just "possibly" or something.
What I felt didn't work so well was "resignedly." It feels a little rough and I kind of stumbled over it. Maybe instead "submissively" or something. Just off the top of my head. Its up to you.
Overall, I really liked it. Kinda made me giggle. I hate those darned tests. True/False yadda yadda yadda.

I like the last line. You could replace it with "mayhaps" I guess, if it bothers you. I know the feeling. It always fixes itself, in time. Read it out loud to yourself a few times, and it'll come. That's the way it works for me, anyway. Nice job.
