Manuel Fajar chapter 1 . 10/12/2006
Inside a dream floating with listless ease,

I felt a flight of fantasy o'er sea,

A soaring venture for a love to see,

¿Why else could such illusion heart so please?

Then I awoke and shook off slumber's fog,

For that sleep had me quiet as a log,

Upon which rested princess dressed as frog,

A cold sensation,—made me want to jog;

Or stir,—and see if perhaps a sweet kiss,

Could amphibian turn to a fair miss,

Though I would hope not too much of priss,

But, dreams are gentle and life all amiss;

There are no lips that can transform cold skin,

While for a sailor better mermaid kin,

So all of this I ponder hands on chin,

For Love's a griffin odd that heart does win;

When it comes traipsing with its strange magic,

It might be comic, but never tragic,

So red heart begs clear soul to light a smile,—

Happy to dissipate all burden's pile.
