This is an incredible poem.
I like the meaning and flow, and the meter is good.
P.S. You're right, this poem has similar cadence as mine.

Wonderful. Reminds me of Tolkien, or the epics of ancient Celtic or anglo-Saxon literature (could as well be the Aeneid, I guess ;-) ). You manage to evoke that fantastuc, epic atmosphere really well, through your choice of words as well as the rhymes and repetitions. I like the way you switch from "There was a man" to the solution "I am the man" in the end, that is very effective. My favourite part is "There was a man who stood all alone,
Who split the silence with a groan,
Who groaned in saddest, soulful tone."
That's just so vivid, so expressive.

Hey, thanks for the review! I don't see why ppl haven't reviewed this one yet... It was amazing how you got everything to rhyme like that, but it still moved with the idea of a story... Wonderful ideas, conveyed loneliness and a tale of heroics that have since died.. reminds me a little of "a wrinkle in time" by l'engle... Great job, write on!
