Many things in life merely feign happiness, when actually pain and deceit are truly there. I am assuming that this is for your friend that you lost so many years ago. I hope you find peace with yourself, and may you no longer be tormented by the memory. If I have misinterpretted this poem, please get back to me and explain the deeper meanings.

that's very sad, and i hope everything is better for you now. i have never expirianced the loss of a true friend, but i have seen family die (most i never truely got the chance to know).
despite my lack of knowledge in this, the poem was touching and a fit tribute to your departed brother.
