This description of colonial nautical life is poorly researched. The china trade was extremely controlled and NO ship would have visited Tokoyo (named at Edo at the time) as standard Japanese policy for foreign sailors was execution.
At seventeen, he would have been a master's mate on the ship being the captain's son. Tea was shipped in chests not crates and all other cargo was shipped in barrels to ease unloading.

The only thing I really have to critize is your grammar and spelling... and that is seldom. You consistently spelt "course" wrong. The "coarse" used is in terms of the texture of something, ex: "She had coarse hair." And I also saw "lier" which should be "liar." But anyway, other than those two small mistakes,it was pretty great! There were a few questionable grammar mistakes.. but, heh, that's just me. I'm picky when it comes to that kind of stuff. :P

But, like I said. Wow. So glad there's a second story. :D

This looks really really fascinating, but unfortunately, I can't read it just yet. I'll need to find a day when I have absolutely nothing to do...but I promise I will, and I promise that I'll actually review about the story itself.

I love it! I can't help but notice some of the similarities between this and Pirates of the Carribean. Good similarity. I like it lots! Despite the wonderful characters of Will and Elizabeth, I must say Ben is my favourite. I do have a brother named that...

Also he's a Son! I love this period in history and I'm so glad you took it up. Did you say there was a sequel? I'll finish this up quick and them move on.

I must say that despite Elizabeth's initial dislike of Will making her into a bit of a - well, a bitch, I do really like her. And I can just picture her face in my mind, smiling as she anticipated Will's reaction to missing his ship.

Intriguing first chapter, I must say. I think I like Will's character - a bit brass, but not overly so. And his interaction with the ladies on the docks was rather amusing. I'm looking forward to reading the rest!
