Omg I know the Anne Rice book you're talking about. Thankfully this was much less disturbing and life-scarring lol. God I had no idea what I was getting into when I started reading that book...oh well. This piece however had amazing, haunting imagery. Nice nightmare twist to this old fairy tale.
