for some reason, i cant put you on my author alert. I just registered and i'm having problems adding people to my author alert. So, im just reviewing again since i can do that now *points at button below*

My favorite character is Flute because he is a well described character and you show that he isn't perfect at everything without practicing hard, whereas some other stories have their characters absolutely perfect without many explanations. The plot is good and I'm really hoping that you'd get another chapter up real soon, although, in the beginning, i was slightly confused. And for the slash pairing, maybe Flute/Kieran?

Flute's my favorite character because you've made him extraordinary while still ordinary. The plot is superb even though the politics and geography can become confusing. I will keep to my two previously mentioned pairings. And Flute isn't sent to kill anyone? Damn, for a moment I thought I was shrewd. You meant to make me think that didn't you? With all your talk of assassins... Still if war is to be avoided one of the two must be taken out.

This story is rather brilliant. If I were to guess at pairings I say Dante/Yarn and tentatively consider the possibility of Flute/Kieran. I wonder though who Dante plans to have Flute kill; Kieran or Gallagher?

Great story! Your trademark originality is well displayed here, as is your ability to make realistic characters that the reader can empathize with. "Flute" is a wonder, and I know I'd spend my money on it at the bookstore!

About Flute's pairing, when you said that you hinted at it in chapter 2, did you mean you hinted at a certain person, or a situation? Because chapter 2 was where you described the relationship between the champions and their chosens, so maybe if Flute actually becomes a champion, then his chosen might be his partner. Though you did mention a few other people in chapter 2, though the only boys other than Dante and Yarn that I saw were Quick and Swift, unless either Tune, Song, or Tea were boys. I don't see it being likely that Flute will be paired with Quick or Swift. When Dante mentioned Flute's gift in this chapter, was he saying that Flute's observational skills was his gift? Because Flute seems to take in everything he sees and draws unbiased conclusions from it, something which is pretty rare. And did Dante make him memorize the conversation not as much as a test, but to make sure he didn't see the Prince as a unwelcome heir in the future? I like Thyme, she's really nice, and has a very different personality. And are we going to see or hear more about Prince Kieran?
