![]() ![]() ![]() This is the kind of stuff that we need today! I loved your poem! Please read one of my stories ( perferably either The Musher or The Land of Light). |
![]() ![]() ![]() Dont' worry! As soon as our anti-American, anti-Christian magic runs it's course, you'll never have to worry about America again! Cause we'll be running it! What color do you like your burka, by the way? Sincerely, Muhammad Joe |
![]() ![]() ![]() This is a great pro-religious piece. It supports morals, a continuation of tradition and religion, and a return to God. I agree with you on some points (for example, I think teachers should be allowed to say they believe in God if it relates to and helps enhance the class), and on some points I disagree with you. I am Jewish, and therefore this poem has a little less meaning for me than I would like it to (through no fault of either of us). And school is a bubble. I like it that way, so we can be all happily ignorant before being rudely forced into the real world. But religion should be a part of our lives, from Christianity to Judaism to aetheism. Kudos! ![]() ![]() ![]() I agree with the message. I don't think you should care if you offend anyone as the truth is in many cases offensive. Offense and tolerance are two of the most stupid concepts Jewry has ever devised and they are only words, like "racist" and "bigot" and "fundamentalist," that are thrown around as an ad-hominem attack to shut up one's opponents. Keep on keeping on. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Again, very good job. And again, I totally agree. I have a poem similar, if you wanna check it out. Great work! All to Jesus, Seth Greenwood |
![]() ![]() ![]() I think it's time someone said what most Christians are thinking: this nation will not last if it continues following its current path. People often think that "freedom of religion" means "freedom from religion." If we keep listening and giving in to liberal ideals, we will be just like France and not allow any religion at all. This is not an athiest country. Christians should not be persicuted for having morals. It seems now days that the people in the minorities get whatever they want because if we do anything to make them angry, the liberals will jump all over us and say that we are descriminating. I guess you are right, this is no longer a Christian nation and we are falling apart. Oh, btw, you need to capitalize "Good Book" because it refers to the Bible. Just like calling it "The Word." |
![]() ![]() ![]() hm... good piece; you bring up some hot issues. Personally, I think separation of church and state is both practical and fair to those who are in the minority in the US- muslims, hindus, buddhists. However, there is a fine line between keeping the schools free of religious pressure and pressuring religion out of the school. you got me thinking with this one. also, as a note, I'd like to compliment you on your rhyming; I haven't read a smooth rhyming piece in a while and this one is the opposite of awkward. well done. |
![]() ![]() ![]() How true. I wouldn't want to force my religion on others, but I get so much crap for being Roman Catholic. I'm tired of having to defend my religion day in and day out. Right on! |
![]() ![]() ![]() True, very true. Awesome write! Needa S. |
![]() ![]() ![]() if we put prayer in schools, what about the athiests, or people of other religions? how would you feel if people forced you to pray to allah at school? you cannot prove your religion is the right one, so you have no right to force it on others. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I feel the same way. People say we are doing fine without God, but they don't take the time to actually see what our world is becoming. Great poem...keep it up! ~CB414 |
![]() ![]() ![]() Wow... this is great, and so completely true. But, just as a side note, you are allowed, in public schools, to pray and talk about anything religous when it doesnt affect your schoolwork. i.e. during freetime, lunch, recess, etc. Wonderful poem! ~Fallen Fantasist President Bush for '04! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I love the idea that we can pray or support Christ by our freedom of speech and freedom to practice religion. But the government that forces laws of one group may turn around and force the rules of another. How would you feel if you were forced to read the holy books of another religion or have your children endoctrinated on the teachings of Buddha? Once you give the government freedom to circumvent the first Amendment, then you are giving them the right to take openly practicing Christianity/any religion away from you. |
![]() ![]() Wonderful first couple of lines, but after that, it seems to turn into a deranged religious rant against separation of church and state. I myself am a Christian, and I find strength in other believers building their lives around God. However, if you want mandatory religion in public schools, if you want a totalitarian theocracy, move to the middle east. |
![]() ![]() ![]() this is such an excellent poem! it's so true too. i really agree with what you said, and we are all on trial right now. keep believing and keep writing! |
