I can't BELIEVE that Alora went off on Drake like that! He went out of his way to do what he could to help her-and it was a great deal!- and due to her own insecurities, she got mad at him? Granted, she had her own right to be mad at him for being so closed off after she got the job, but then, when isn't he so withdrawn? _ ;

I understand she was scared, but she really crossed a line! _ ;

In any case, I must have forgotten something crucial: Alora has an older sister, right? Because I know for certain she has a younger BROTHER. _ ;

Awesome story! I love going to the local Starbucks at the mall and getting my caffinated drink-whatever it is-with a package of petite madelines, and it would be so cool if some attractive business-type started treating me the way Drake does Alora even though I am not yet in college ...

They have such an amusing relationship. Drake's dry humor is my kind all the way. Plus, I have a partiality toward the artsy folks out there. I myself have a bohemian lifestyle as a writer, so I can relate.

Too bad about the divorce. Hate those and the losing of Alora's scholarship. I sincerely hope it all works out. Your Moulin Rouge-esque protagonist gets all my cheers. She has the cutest nickname ever!

Anyways, do continue. I would like to read more.

Oh, dear! I just came across this wonderful story, and I love that you've been able to capture the mundane in a great & real way here. Alora and Drake are very interesting and beautifully mismatched. I do have to wonder how Alora's adjustment to her new work environment is going to develop, especially with the suit in such proximity!

I see you haven't posted anything in quite a long while, though; hopefully everything is going okay where you are. I hope you're still working on this if/when you get a chance - updates are greatly anticipated! :)

I like story; its nice, and has character. Looking forward to see what happens at Alora'a new job...interesting how before he was always vague about his occupation and now she gets to see for herself.

Awesome chapters. I always knew Xander was a bit of a shmoe, so I'm glad to see it out in the open. Drake seems to be getting cooler and cooler, which I love. Anyways, I'm just yammering. The story's still awesome. Yay.
