Oh my God. I loved that. There is no way that's your first. I hate you. That is so much better than anything I have EVER done, let a lone my first.

Wow. amazing. And you say this is your first poem? Good grief. Wish I was this goo when I first started. Wonderful job on this. Keep it up!

This is such a pretty, sad poem. I really like it. One suggestion. You might want to proof-read it again - I noticed a few small mistakes. Other than that, excellent job.I've never even heard a whippoorwill (we have mostly mourning doves, mockingbirds, and flocks of escaped cockatiels and parrots here), so I don't know how it would sound, but your poem makes it sound soft and wistful.

Whippoorwills are my favorite birds. They are kind of special to me because I was hearing one during my first kiss on the backporch. And when I was a kid, I would go outside just to listen for them. Even now, when I hear them I feel happy and lonely and far away at the same time. Very beautiful poem. I have never seen one on here about a whippoorwill. Where do you live? They are very common where I am. :) Hope to see more from you soon! ~Abigail
