Great poem, people just need to know that we're people too and your poem does a great job.
marshbar960 chapter 1 . 3/20/2008
very true and powerful. no matter how old I get or how close to God I become, I will never be too holy or too righteous for God and all His people to tell me to STOP! thanks for sharing and keep writing!
Ashelin chapter 1 . 4/5/2006
Thank you, so many people don't know we are people. We are sinners, and we're not perfect. Alls we can do is love Jesus and try to do what he wants. Great poem, thanks.
CovinS chapter 1 . 2/13/2005
Holy smokes, that's the best "religious" poem i've read in a long time. It displays a lot of maturity, a tint of angst, and a punch in the gut for people who think that they're perfect because they're Christian. People like that drive me away from churches and Christianity, so it's nice to see person of faith that *also* has common sense. Worthy of my favorites list, and it's been a long time since i've added anything to that.
suzieque2 chapter 1 . 2/11/2005
I like the Bob Carlisle song that says "The Saints are just the sinners who fell down and got up."_ Sometimes people think we're snobbish or pruddish because of our beliefs. But the truth is that we're supposed to have Compassion and try to be like Christ. It doesn't mean we won't mess up once and a while, because we are tempted too. But if we confess, Jesus is willing to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness... and that "cleansing" is a lifelong process. It doesn't happen overnight
Attempted Happiness chapter 1 . 2/10/2005
It's really awsome, I love christians who can admit that we are real people too.
Aj Riley chapter 1 . 2/10/2005
that was a really good poem..."And rip the hearts from our loved ones chests"you'd better not be doing that anytime soon... lol, jk.
lebuffle chapter 1 . 2/10/2005
Love it! Absolutely love it! I agree totally. I'd critique this, but I don't feel like doing so - the satisfaction in this piece is its concept. It's a wonderful idea; I have the right mind to show this to my church-critical athiest parents so that when they antagonise me I can prove that we're not actually ever going to be perfect, but we try anyway. I love the last line especially.

Keep writing and God bless!
