Awesome and very true.

Banning the burning of the flag would indeed be a violation of the citizens' first amendment rights, not to mention it would merely intensify the concept of statehood. If the GOP goonies are really serious about libertarianism, they, as well as all others (though under different pretexts) should know that freedom of speech in universal and fundamental to America.
Nicely put and researched essay. I do however have doubts about the effect of a flag burning ban, that it may lead to other bans even more ridiculous (such as you example of making the Pledge mandatory). If the oligarchy knows what is good for them, they'll keep America free.

Wow, I usually hate political speeches etc., but this is actually really good.
The slight looks to the future in it, how this could lead to that, really strengthens the point.
And it seem well researched, not something you made up on the spot. Or maybe you just know your US history and governmental policies well. _
The last line is a great ending, and leaves me thinking they better not pass the law. ::glares:: All in all, great!
