|Reviews for Letters to Troy|
| Katie Fantastic chapter 41 . 11/11/2009
This is beautiful Alys. I don't know what else to say.
| Faerie Tales chapter 39 . 5/1/2008
Funny how something (perfect, beautiful, mind) can make me feel so lonely. I love the -love- you have with Troy, whatever shape the love takes (in it's varying forms it's always been pure and full) and the complete faith you have, the insights you have... it reminds me a bit of The Color Purple- when they'd say something (Like Troy's favourite- "I think it pisses God off when you walk by purple in a field and don't stop to notice") and it makes perfect sense after that, and the world kind of clicks into place a little more. You make the world click for me, for a little bit.
| El Delfo chapter 39 . 4/29/2008
I went back and reread Landslide before I read Divine Romance- the difference between the two is so drastic, and so sad and beautiful. It takes back up the loving tone from chapters back, and it feels so good to see that. He is such a special boy.
| Faerie Tales chapter 38 . 11/25/2006
That time did make me cry. Oh, Alys, I wish I'd been there for you. I wish there was anything I could do. There's nothing, of course...
It's funny how your writing has impacted my life. Just tonight, not an hour ago, myself and Aaron were riding in the car together... I remember what you wrote, over a year ago, about riding in the car with Troy...
Heh... every review I give you is so passionate, each trying to out do the previous in sincerity and emotion. Each piece you write affects me more deeply than the last, I think, and I wish I could convey to you what it means to me. Thank you, Alys, for letting me see into your mind a bit. It's quite the honour. I wish I could be there for you more, you're such a phenomenal person.
| El Delfo chapter 35 . 11/25/2006
"Tangles and knots are all she gives for you to run your hands through, and you do."
| Faerie Tales chapter 33 . 5/10/2006
You're so amazing, Alys. Every time you suprise me with another amazing poem, or excerpt from your life. It's absolutely stunning. Hugs to you, dear!
| El Delfo chapter 1 . 2/18/2006
Haha, Samantha is a reviewing MONSTER. But that's why we love her.
I've reviewed tons of stories, poems, et cetera. And I think I've done a pretty darn good job on those reviews, too. But when faced with your poems...I just can't find the words. You're most likely the only author that really makes me feel your words emotionally; Every line hits me in places I didn't know I had. You're amazing.
Katie in her brand-spanking-new account, by the way. XD;
| Faerie Tales chapter 24 . 12/22/2005
Ah-yet again, you astonish me! _ I love this!
| Faerie Tales chapter 23 . 12/16/2005
"ohmygodhedidnot" I love that! I would love to see that locket (though I'm certain it's a bit of a Troy-Alys secret...
It's so weird... seeing you guys now is like watching actors... I see you say goodbye and it's like a parting scene in a movie.
0_0 how absurd is that? I hope to go carolling with you-!
| Faerie Tales chapter 22 . 12/12/2005
Eh? This one somewhat contradicts the mood a bit... still amazing, just... peculiar?
| Faerie Tales chapter 21 . 12/12/2005
"abruptly he seems mucholder to her,and for the first timeshe imagines anotherchild swinging upinto his embrace:her own."
Isn't it peculiar how we see things like that? Look at a perfectly ordinary moment... and see the future laid out before us?
Here I go again with rhetorical questions.
I love the end... I don't know how to describe it, but it's just so... I dunno...
| Faerie Tales chapter 20 . 12/12/2005
This is my favorite style of poetry. And I love the expressive words... phrases... imagery...
all that stuff they teach us in creative writing.
| Faerie Tales chapter 18 . 12/12/2005
"imperfection is perfect"
Isn't that the truth? How we're all categorized by our faults, yet our faults are often the most wonderful part about us? How we can ask so many rhetorical questions, and in reality say nothing?
Good job-I rather like this 'un.
| Faerie Tales chapter 17 . 12/12/2005
"Thanks a lot"
That's awesome. Ironic, too. I love how you just put that in, but... it's just... so... sweet! All of it, every bit is so... just... augh! There's that lack of words problem again...
| Faerie Tales chapter 16 . 12/12/2005
you're always happy just before you realize you are hear them in a whisper, but they never hear you screaming.
The rhythem (ack... I can't even spell poetry-related words...) of this poem was captivating... as was the message. The lines up there *points* were amazing.
