![]() ![]() ![]() I really liked it! It was simple and just filled with emotion! I really felt sorry for the characters. I liked how much you had into something that is less than 1,000 words. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I actually cried reading this because it reminded me so much of my last relationship. I was always the one running back to my ex and it really...I'm so glad I read this. With love, MyPrincessEnding |
![]() ![]() ![]() "Why was here?" I think you forgot the "he." I like how you made the story into something readers could relate with. Interesting method. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Hello, darling. This is Melissa from the site "A Drop of Romeo". Just here to tel you that your story has been added and reviewed under the "One Shot" category. Here's your review: Melissa Thinks: It’s a fairly short one shot, but that’s okay. “Better off Without You” stands on it’s own two feet despite that it’s less than 1,000 words. The fact that the characters are unnamed gives the reader room to compare the scenario to their own stories or maybe even their own lives; it’s definitely a versatile one shot. Nothing before or after the scene is explained, giving it a mystical aura. The deep emotional pockets that slowly leak out as you read on make an impression and work quickly in pulling the reader in. The ending might surprise you (I say this because it definitely not what I expected), because it strays from the cliche and that’s exactly what I love about it. |

![]() ![]() ![]() Wow...you go girl! This is one of the best one shots I've ever read. The characters despite their names not being mention were really relatable and strong. Thanks for the great read! |

![]() ![]() ![]() I love her strength! I would love to see the guy wallowing in guilt because of this! Damn those handsome men that can't understand you! |
![]() ![]() ![]() This was quite sad, but I think I do agree that it worked out better without the names and the ambiguity. I think that I would probably appreciate this a bit more if I had ever been in a situation like this, but I haven't. Great job! ~*~Ngoc1231~*~ |
![]() ![]() ![]() Aww you made me cry! Awesome one-sshot :D xx Ali |
![]() ![]() ![]() That was absolutely powerful. The thing with fiction, usually pertaining to romance, people prefer the happy ending...they like seeing people work through the problems, fix things, run back to each other as if everything will always be 'forever'. Essentially, it's a great feeling to read a story and believe that those circumstances can exist. Yet, sometimes, it's good to read a story and realize life isn't always like that. I loved this oneshot, because it was short, simple, and because there was enough emotion and depth to it that you could understand the underlying themes and struggle the protagonist went through. She cared for him so much and when he finally realized she wasn't coming back, he went after her but it was too late. Life isn't always a happy ending, and I loved reading this because I thought the ending was perfect. I read your author's note and you're right there are many ways to interpret this. In my opinion, I see it as her saying sorry because as much as she was hurting she knew he'd be hurt as well, but they both had to move on. Powerful. Beautiful. Wonderfully written. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Sad but it worked, cest la vie eh. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I liked it. I really, really liked it. And regarding your note...I think it's better if some stories are left unexplained, just a glimpse is sometimes better than the whole picture. If you get what I mean! :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() That was good. Kind of sad, but good. I really liked it! My opinion is that it's better off without a second chapter. It's good just the way it is. Thanks for a great read! |
