So I'm finally reviewing! I've had this in my favourites folder for AGES and I only read about four chapters last time (because the sheer number kinda scared me at the time and I had yet to figure out how to hack my computer and change the allowed times to enable all night reading... not that I have or anything...) but I'm determined to at least get to ch15 in one sitting this time. *crosses fingers* How have you managed to churn out 50 odd chapters?

Anywho, excuse my rambling. Big love for Lucky, by the way. He's an awesome character. It's kinda ironic that he's anything but lucky... which has probably been pointed out before and was probably the intention, but I felt the need to mention it anyway. :)

Wow that sucks. Rika probably saw Lucky and Tomo. And it really doesn't help that Tomo proclaimed she was pregnant with Lucky's baby earlier in the story. Just when I thought he and Cricket would have a happy ending this happens. Man Lucky really can't catch a break...

This is very easily the best humor fic on this website, in my opinion. And this chapter is the best one yet.

"I chuckled to myself, suddenly picturing us jumping around, throwing energy balls at each other, speed lines everywhere, screaming titles of our moves before we executed them, like 'Flaming Heaven's Angel Blast!' and slamming each other into the ground so hard that the concrete tiles would blow up around us. And Cricket would suddenly pull out a flute and play it or something, and lightening would come out of no where, and I'd dodge it all and somehow have a gigantic sword which was actually a giant flame. And then..."

Perfect!

That was... fuck. I really, really, really enjoyed this chapter, no matter how sidetracked and plot twisting it was. It came coupled with a lot of really nice segments and then the return of my favorite thing you do, lists of things Lucky is thinking.

But still, you Tomo'd, and even though you did, it went pretty well I'd say. I have to disagree with FakeFiction that this particular abortion is nonchalant. With the way things are now, it's totally possible for teens to walk into an abortion clinic, have the procedure done and be back home before parents or friends are any wiser. The beginning of Juno has some of the same happening there, and I think that you made it known that the procedure was actually carried out in a way that was nothing too invasive and actually kept character with Lucky's first person narrative. Now if it were in the third person, I'm sure we would have been reading a lot more about it. Tasteful job with the subject matter, that's for sure.

Also, your cliffhanger did nothing for me this time because I figured out what the text meant as soon as I read it. Sometimes it pays to live in the South, ya know? I won't ruin it for anybody else, but Lucky's in a crapload of trouble and my heart is right there with his in that black hole. That's this month's reason I hate you.

Probably the most nonchalant abortion I've ever had an account of. Also, the first, but still... Jeez, Tomo bringing out the brains, man, watch out. I'd never want to have to see that again. Seems so odd, even for a break of character. But I always wonder where else she goes off to sometimes, especially this time. Her parents abhore her, her friends are vapidand nonexistent and she only stays around Lucky and Tiff (and maybe Linx) for only a pair or trio of days at a time...

"You friend and your little girlfriend...", well, I assume Simon trumps Lucky in height, so if Rika commits a mistake in role-identity, I wouldn't be surprised if Cricket is trying to pull this situation out herself. We'll see... In about 2 months...

P.S. I'd like to see Linx shoved into the school somehow. We definitely need his running amok business going around, without the faculty noticing.

Poor, oblivious Lucky.

I made you wait like a week and a half before I got back here to review this for you. Did you have nice, ansty, anticipation filled week while I starved you of your sweet review-meats? That's kinda gross, imagery.

Anyway, I'm applauding you for making your story downright fraught with natural human occurrences this chapter. There are a number of events that aren't even, "oh, it's a story, we can stretch reality a bit" in their making and I feel like that's a good thing. Like Linx a having history that would lead the reader to wonder more about the relationship naturally, and then Lucky actually proceeds to be naturally curious and then the hilarity ensues at that oh-so-quotable line. You know the one. Along the same lines, the conversation on skipping has happened to me before, with the same outcome too. Then there comes the ridiculous truth of the gym escapade.

I was never too into sports during gym myself because I had naturally nerdy and coordinationally challenged friends when I was growing up. Plus, a majority of the girls were a bit on the heavier side, so they never wanted to do much. But dodgeball was always the time that I stepped up to the plate and let loose what I had inside. One of my lanky ass friends loved dodgeball, and we usually got picked close to last for our infamous standing around. I have dodgeball war stories, I have dodgeball scars, I've been the guy to get an entire team back in when he was the last one standing, and the guy to catch a ball with odd combinations of extremeties. The one time we played dodgeball in high school, I was the guy calling jocks pansies while I dodged their balls. Haha. You seriously cannot imagine the sheer amount of laughing I did reading that part and remembering those days. Fucking kids nowadays can't even play because schools and parents banned it. Sigh.

Imagining Lucky and Cricket at the lockers talking reinforced the fact that this is writing, and though you've mentioned in passing that most of the characters would be Asian(I have no idea if that still stands), and Cricket your average girl, the scene is familiar enough to invoke a feeling of being there. Luckily for me, I have an active imagination, and I could see the scene in my head pretty well, and if I looked at it from a first person perspective, it flowed really naturally. Then Wendy pops in, shattering that feeling of euphoria you have from talking to your crush and being so close to a kiss you could feel the tension heavy in the air.

Hello, I've been reading your story for so long (at least a year) but I only just worked out how to review! Shame on me for never seeing the giant green review button at the bottom of every chapter.

I think this is one of the best online stories I've ever come across in all my years of scouring the backwaters. You develop your characters really well and (despite some of the ludicrous situations you put poor Lucky through) he is a completely believable character. I love his personality so much - he is hilarious! Tomo used to irritate me but I've come to think of her as an endearingly-irritating sister type figure. I can't wait to see what happens next! Pregnant? Is this another 'Lucky's child' joke?
