Reviews for So I was Hit by a Car the Other Day |

![]() ![]() ![]() Yep, this IS the fastest turnover you've gotten up. Yeah, I'm wondering how Cole actually ID'd Lucky in blowing up his car. I'd really like to know. Hey, maybe have THEM dance instead of us! Yeah, I've never believed that smoking and drinking were always a good combination, though this story's depiction makes it look quite fun. Hey, the #6 at Wendy's is the Spicy Chicken Sandwich, oh jeez, that was my favorite, I always got that combo as a kid. But that was when my parents drove me back in Elementary school. It took 5 minutes and it was so much decorative back then. Now, I have to walk 15 minutes and the outside is all new and crap. Great memories. One thing that hasn't changed over all these years: The night crew is all Asian. Oh, blatant irony that Wendy wants hicken nuggets because Lucky and Darwin smell like fast food. Hey, Happy New Year! |
![]() ![]() ![]() No the one time I didn't review. Damn you L, Damn you. Lol Cole. |
![]() ![]() I TOTALLY SAW THIS COMING. XD I was waiting for Cole to appear again magically, and bam! THERE HE IS! (please don't let Lucky die. D: ) |
![]() ![]() Thrilled with the quick update! Also, really enjoy the story. At some point, I thought that the story was going to flag but it's still going strong! Love tension and jocularity between all the kids! Bravo! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Now back to our regularly scheduled reviews. Last chapter was a little weak and unbalanced, started off on a note of danger and risk and quickly calmed to the point of almost cheerful resolution. It wasn't bad, per se, but it felt lacking(or maybe it was the spoilers you gave me.) I felt like Lucky's Friday was an odd note to end a weak of, "Really? Fuck." Mostly because of Jin and how you could definitely see some kind of ill omen about to befall his life. It made the revealing of Celeste as his harbinger of doom a little lacking, because who do they run into at every dive across their side of town? Celeste, that's who. Focusing on this chapter, I loved it. I really felt like it was one of those defining chapters of your writing, sort of like the last time we saw Cole or the drunken-Momento-type style of Lucky and Tomo's last adventure. Like I've said earlier, Lucky's best chapters occur on his weekends, and you took the opportunity to get some good plot development in through this chapter amidst some excellent writing. It's slow-moving at the start because of the heart to heart with Tiff, but she still comes through as a stern, loving parental figure and the evolving character she's becoming. But the real meat of the chapter does come with the party, it's a really nice change from what we see during the school atmosphere and very, very different from what occurred at the club. Your writing really gave it that chilled out party vibe that you wanted and made me kind of pine for those good times, hanging out with friends playing a couple rounds of fighting games, a rpg and then chilling out with a movie on as somebody comes off their high. But the star of the show this time was definitely Wendy. Cricket pretty much comes off as your good girl that belongs in the suburbs, trying not to be too slutty, generally chilling out and a little lackluster with the PDA. Wendy on the other hand came forth bearing what she's been working on this entire story, personality. It's good to see a female Lucky's age that feels natural and fits into what Lucky is. Sort of, I mean, she's probably not regularly drinking and hanging out with some crazy characters. I don't need to tell you about the ending because it was nice. It hits home hard for me, and I love that. ALSO. COLE? IT'S NOT LIKE YOU TOMO'D BUT GODDAMN! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Tornado-kun probably capitulated the story's meaning right there. Alright, yeah, getting pissed at whom you once liked (possibly still to this day do), yeah, bonus points for Lucky. AND he makes up with Simon. 'Tis cool he can feign ignorance like always. I don't think Celeste and Jin might NOT work out, unlike the unsaid consensus, but in time, we'll see. We'll see... *engages in short burst of maniacal laughter* |
![]() ![]() ![]() "I'm going for a run," Linx stated, and then looked up and saw me. "Lucky, you should come. It's prime 'Walk of Shame' time. So many chicks in heels hobbling home at this hour." I seriously considered it for a fraction of a second. And then, with a maniacal grin, Linx grabbed the front of his pants and ripped it off and tossed it behind him, where it landed next to the TV. "Oh my god," Tiff said, bringing a hand up to shield her eyes. Linx laughed, loud and proud, wearing the shortest, tiniest shorts I've ever seen a straight man wear with pride. Or at all. Where did he find these shorts? Were they girls' booty shorts? Or were they actually from the 70's when shorts like that came standard (if not a little longer)? And most importantly: why? I did not ever want to see this. Ever. "Oh god," I could only echo what Tiff just said. "What the fuck?" But she just burst out laughing, and fell over in the couch, still covering her face. "Linx, get that out of here!" He laughed triumphantly, pointed at the door, and shouted, "AWAY!" And then he ran out." . *dies laughing* |
![]() ![]() ![]() I just read your entire fic and i gotta say that it's really good. I really like your main character Lucky, and his take on what happens to him is hilarious. I'm not a man of many words so I'll just say this : Keep up the good work |
![]() ![]() ![]() holy mother of cheese! EPIC chapter- I am seriously in LOVE with this chapter, and even more so - Lucky. whoa, when cricket was all: "so we're still friends, yeah?" and Lucky just pulls out some kick-arse, "No." man, totally brilliant. LOVED IT; i can't wait to see the repercussions in the next chapter! i still can't believe cricket and simon... bleh! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Now THIS was an awesome chapter. So much drama! So good. Poor, poor lucky. I did not see that Simon thing coming. It would be cool to know more about the backstory to their relationship. Keep writing, I really like Lucky's 'voice', if you know what I mean. Your writing style, the way he phrases things. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Nice cliffhanger, as always... |
![]() ![]() ![]() Hey, look at that, I was right for a change! God, did Simon ever have that coming to him, I guess. Though for what known reason to him, not really sure. Alright, so we know Lucky's on his rampant self-vengence spree, which might mean more of Mrs. Coates (I can't get the image out of my mind that of her being like an malevolent Miss Havisham of Great Expectations. Only even more haughty, yuck!). But I'm wondering where this bout of self-destruction and kamikaze violence ends? Perhaps with the lesser mentioned... Maybe Rika will fess up and find Lucky to tell him to ambush Cricket because she honestly thinks that the two would be perfect for each other and that she genuinely wants the best for them (or at least, Cricket)... hell, bring in Zephyr to sqve the damn day, too, start a coalition and raid the school, hell yeah! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Awesome story. This chapter was intense and I feel really bad for Lucky. I can't wait to read more. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Lucky thinks way too much. And they say girls think too much! Haha, when I started reading about the soccer game, I think I knew deep down that it was not going to end well. Hilarious chapter as always! - J |
![]() ![]() ![]() Oh Noes! I was hoping Lucky wouldn't beat Simon up |
