This is powerful work and describes very crisply, the impact of this experience. Indeed to a point where I can visualise the scene and its tragedy and almost feel the emotion with you.

Strong symbolism here. How e'er fleeting is such that may be considered love, or perhaps a brief fling on the satin sheets? relative. I feel the crumbling strength (or so I see) of the persona throughout the poem. Impactful. A cruelly beautiful poem.

I like this a lot. "He was my surrender" is the kind of brilliant line that you manage to use casually, and yet really effectively.
