![]() ![]() ![]() Beautiful... |
![]() ![]() ![]() I know I'm really late to this proverbial party, but I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed this story. I'll admit that I almost skipped this over when scrolling through looking for something to read because it was slash, but I decided to be open minded and give it a shot. You did a wonderful job on portraying the characters' emotions, and I felt as though I was right there. Furthermore, you helped me open my mind to a different genre, and the idea that I don't have to see myself in the characters to enjoy a read. Thanks! |
![]() ![]() ![]() This was very cute and well detailed. I like the history that Shiva was given, his whole genie past and the Hinduistic lore to it, whether real or not. I really wanted Cordys last wish to be a free Shiva, but this is a better, less "easy" ending. Not a freebie feel-good, but a little bit of work for it. I was hoping Cordy would just give the bottle to a friend, like Jamie, and just be there when he came out. I was imagining the dramatic "throw himself into his arms" type of thing. I really liked the picture change at the end of the fic. I just love all of this. ~ibbit |
![]() ![]() ![]() I like this story, I really do there's just a couple of things that really sit wrong with me; 1) Jamie: She bothered me more than a few times throughout the story. Like when she got upset with Cordy about his reaction to her relationship with Travis even though she knew that Travis basically bullied Cordy. To me you wouldn't date someone who bullies your supposed best friend. Not only does she not tell him about it she allows Travis to lock him out of his own dorm so they can continue to have their secret relations, and she says nothing when Travis insults Cordy right in front of her (I have a similar problem with this happening with Shiva also). On top of that she basically ignores that fact that Cordy has some type of social anxiety (I don't know if you meant for him to have it but that's what it sounded like when you were describing some of his thoughts and actions around other people), and continues to try and "fix" him when really all she's doing his making him more uncomfortable. And finally I really hated how she asked him to use his last wish to free Travis when she knew that it would make Shiva go away. Even knowing that they were in love and that Shiva was the only other person Cordy felt comfortable around she still asked him to do that for her, right after thanking him for saving her life. So it comes of as "Oh, thanks for saving my life but I'm too impatient to wait for my boyfriend to serve the time he deserves so can you please sacrifice your happiness for mine?" I really can't see the loyalty and "good-heartedness" everyone in the story keeps saying she has. 2) I just generally don't understand why everyone seems to think Cordy is at fault for why him and Travis don't get along. Travis is plain mean to Cordy in front of everyone and they're all like, "I don't get why you don't like Travis". I also don't understand why Travis is so mean to Cordy, is there any specific reason why he enjoys insulting Cordy? 3) Why didn't Cordy wish Shiva free after they started dating? Like as soon as he promised not to use his other two wishes, why didn't he wish for Shiva's freedom? That seems to be the more logical way of ensuring you keep your promise. 4) I feel like Cordy would be a little more bitter towards Jamie and Travis. You didn't really mention his interactions with Jamie after he made the wish but his interactions with Travis didn't seem to have changed much. Other than those I really liked your writing style, this is actually my second time reading this story yet you were still able to invoke righteous anger on Cordy's behalf both times. |

![]() ![]() ![]() I really loved this story! XD So cute, and the sudden turn about by Travis was great... however I have issues, like how could Jamie be so selfish and ask for Cordy to use his last wish knowing it would be the end of his and Shiva's relationship? A real friend wouldn't do that... I think a much better twist would have been, she was the one driving, but Travis took all the blame! It would make more sense, her so upset, and Cordy suddenly willing to help Travis... at least to me it would! :7 Plus, I think Travis is too much of an ass to let the idea of three wishes go... it doesn't fit his personality not to look like an ass there... I'd see him more like: 3 wishes eh? 1st... something about Jamie... 2nd... something selfish, but really sweet to his character -like the kid who died's parents suddenly win the lottery, or he win's the lottery to give the money away... or something- 3rd ... almost as an after thought: 'Oh ya ... and for you to be free to be with Cordy' Other than that I really loved the story, it was so cute, but I would have liked some smexy parts! XD Thanks for the great read! (,)/ -RPS |
![]() ![]() ![]() Nice way to start a story! |
![]() ![]() ![]() "You don't have to be," the prince said. "I wish the world was different. I don't want to give you up." I just noticed that he said "I wish" and nothing happened. Did you not notice, or is it like an impossible wish that can't be granted? Amazing story, you're a great writer. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Um, this story... is freeing a repeat offender who has killed someone because someone asks you to an unselfish move? Especially with zero guarantee that he will change? No, it isn't. Half of the story seems to focus on how introverts who don't enjoy are broken and need fixing. I found it kind of offensive and really annoying. But the end just sucked. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Wonderful story! I'm glad it all worked out in the end and that Travis turned out to be goo denough to give Cordy something in return. Really sweet. Thanks for the brilliant writing! :D |
![]() ![]() ![]() That actually pisses me off how Cordy is the only one to apologize for their faults when resolving the conflict with Jamie. Jamie was wrong for keeping her relationship with Travis a secret and not telling Cordy regardless of his prejudices against Travis. It doesn't help that she knows Travis is mean and borders on cruel as he bullies Cordy who is her best friend. She does not try to curb Travis from bullying Cordy either who constantly insults him. Where's the loyalty in that? |
![]() ![]() ![]() Back for a re-read and I just noticed this in the flashback: "I wish the world was different." Just before, you have Shiva cautioning Cordy on the use of "I wish" in a sentence. This clearly didn't get counted as a wish for the prince, so maybe you could word it a little differently? |
![]() ![]() ![]() Awesome. |
![]() ![]() Glad I ran into this story, I really enjoyed it. I liked how you didn't just have all their problems wished away and made them deal with some real life consequences. :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() pretty cute : ) |
