|Reviews for To NaNo or Not to NaNo|
| Crystal109 chapter 1 . 10/12/2005
Hey, I did Nano for the past two years. I finished the first year and failed dismally the second. But the thing is, I don't usually finish. But you don't have to worry about how good something is or not in Nano. Hate a character? The ninjas can come in and kill em off - that's what? 1,0 words right there? The character's thirsty? Write an extremely descriptive 1,500 word snippet of them getting a drink. Sure, it'll annoy the heck out of anyone else reading it, but who says your novel has to see the light of day? A lot of the dares on the forums are fair game to make interesting as well. And the biggest thing I learned is: don't have too much of a plot. That was my downfall. It made me want to follow that plotline, and if I had a plot hole, I wanted to go back and change it. Bad idea. Just meander. It's fun. D
On that note, I'd like to say I absolutely loved your story Arsenic and Old Lace. It was amazing, and I hope to see more of your writings soon!

Word up, baby! I did NaNo last year, and it was a great experience. I did end up writing a lot of crap, but more than 80% of it I kept, I liked, and I'm (still) working on editing. Best of luck!

hm.. I'm going to check it out. I tend to write obsessively... maybe I could manage it. Thanks for the heads-up.
