Reviews for Excerpts from the Diary of a Dark Lord
Shadow Gryphon chapter 9 . 6/6/2006
Dammit! So sentimental. And now I feel bad for him... Still, wouldn't Lord Vulcan teach him to detach his soul from his body? *hopeful* Morgie can have my budgie, if he likes. ;)
Shadow Gryphon chapter 8 . 6/6/2006
Aw... I can't believe it. Who would kill someone's lovely little pet orc? For shame! *whaps probably-hero over the head with a book* Heh. Like that he calls the weather lonely, though. That's always a nice touch.

Oh... Maybe he won't covert Smith, but the guy from the beginning. I can just see him going to look for the right Baker's guild... *sniggers*
Shadow Gryphon chapter 7 . 6/6/2006
No! I don't want Morgie to go away! Hehehe... Picture books and margaritas. Who woulda thunk?

So there's a proscribed number of years that he can rule for? Sheesh, at the rate he's going, he's probably going to end up converting Smith or something.

Hm... Are you familiar with Terry Pratchett's Lord Vetinari? Not really a dark lord, but the last time I read of him in prison, he'd started making an army of rats. :D Gotta love Vetinari.
Shadow Gryphon chapter 6 . 6/6/2006
"Wherever have you seen or heard of a Dark Lord with an army of sissies and prancing ponies? It’s just not done." Beautiful. Absolutally, wonderfully, incredibly beautiful. Now I want an army of brownies... Darnit.
Shadow Gryphon chapter 5 . 6/6/2006
*hysterical* Threatening Peer of the Realm? Somehow, that gives me a mental image of the Duke of Wellington on a Sharpe-like killing spree. Still, Mysterious Person of Great Importance (must be careful not to read that as Mysterious Person of Great Impotance) has it's appeal.
Shadow Gryphon chapter 4 . 6/6/2006
Absolutally, wonderfully beautiful. I swear, I wish I could keep Morg in a box. Loved the bit about the Baker's Guild, although it gave me an idea for a short story... *hopeful* Would you mind if I used your Evil Overlord/Baker's Guild idea if I credited you for it?

Hehehe... Live long and prosper seems a bit off for a disembodied spirit, but I appreciate the spirit of the joke. (Gah. Sorry about the semi-pun)
Shadow Gryphon chapter 3 . 6/6/2006
Jon Thomas March... *laughs* A lord without a lording. Very nice. It's true-people need to make their bad rulers evil, otherwise they feel a bit stupid for not doing something about it afterwards.

Count Vermincula? Sounds like a vampire with rat teeth, to be honest.
Shadow Gryphon chapter 2 . 6/6/2006
*grins* Oh, my. I do love this one already, and all he's done is told me he likes picture books. Slightly vain, but in an appealing way.
Shadow Gryphon chapter 1 . 6/6/2006
*sniggers* Sounds like someone's been reading the Evil Overlord list. Or maybe not. In any case, I like how they decide that which might make him look good is the most dangerous. We need more good Dark Lords.
Quaviver chapter 12 . 2/22/2006
My love! My kitten isn't rabid at all. (He's somewhat scabrous and bitten all over with fleas, but not rabid. I think.) And don't worry. I consulted with him after finishing Morgie's tale, and he has informed me that he has absolutely no wish to eat anyone his owner has met over the internet. They might be psychos or stalkers, and both are bad for the liver. (His words, not mine.)

Yes, it's a rather sad ending. You know? A single, shining tear made its way down my cheek. Really. It's very rare author who could combine humor and high drama wihout sacrificing either element, and you did it so admirably well I disgraced myself in the Internet cafe. Shame on you.

I still love the philosophy (Dark Lords must rise and fall, for the good of all), and this epilogue was stunning(ly hilarious).

Hrrm. I think what I'm so laboriously trying to say here is that Excerpts is _good_, it's eminently publishable, _really_.

And that's it for my longish wushy-gushing review. Just making up for all my lazy, unreviewing days I guess. .

Love, Quavi
Lauren Wolfe chapter 12 . 2/11/2006

Till the next page. Ciao!
Lauren Wolfe chapter 11 . 2/11/2006
Ack! As an author here once quoth: "Evil cliffhanger!"

KEWL. VERY KEWL. Love this. The seriousness and humor...very good mix. very good indeed. You rock!

But wait! Meh epilog pa!
Lauren Wolfe chapter 10 . 2/11/2006
Interesting...haven't lost YOUR touch yet, my dear. Very good, very insightful...keep it up!

((Psst...thanks for the reviews ))
Fiorenza chapter 12 . 2/10/2006
This has got to be one of the most hilarious things I've read in a long time. Thanks for the laugh.
Lauren Wolfe chapter 9 . 2/9/2006
Paumanhin po, pero katotohanan lamang ang nahuhulog mula sa labi kong ito.

It saddens me to know that this is almost ending :( But, of course, it HAS to end somewhen ;D

I like that father-son relationship you established at this point; very good insight, as usual. I like the depiction of Morgie's sadness too; very good indeed.

Hope you'll be posting more after this one! Can't wait to see what's in store for us next. Keep it up!
