Hm. From the first moment the hind was casually dropped that Zeke's father was spending even less time home and having lots of "late night work meetings", my filthy little mind screamed AFFAIR! AFFAIR! AFFAIR WITH OTHER ZEKE'S MUM! The proof in my mind: prolonged hugs, shared friendship in past, etc. etc. But once I read the diary entry it's like... KABOOM! I still hoped i was wrong, but later chapters kind of agree with me (oh! fancy that! Zeke's mum is also spending less time at home! Oh dear! What are Zeke's mum and other Zeke's dad doing cooking together, Zeke's mum in provocative dress, when no-one is supposed to be home? What's with the looks&hints between them?) So, yeah, my heart wishes it weren't so but my brain tells me a different story *sigh*

Great chapter anyway though, like the style with which the diary is written :)

Another amazing chapter, yummy factor for the Zeke&Charlie flashbacks, yay for Sam and her mindgames, more mystery from Lawrence, OMG Zeke confronts Charlie in the locker rooms, big OUCH on the failed coming-out, and incredibly tender scene at the abandoned park. !

Keke#2's PoV! YAY! I love when you use his PoV, and the way you put interesting little historical facts in between sometimes, they tie-in perfectly to Keke's thoughts and remind me a bit of the kind of musings you might get in a film from an off-voice (I have no idea if it's called that, it's just my logical translation from the spanish "voz en off", i hope you get what i mean though ; ) Can i ask where you picked them up and how you manage to remember so accurately?

I like the constant flashbacks to Zeke and Katie, and the special relationship they have (not that different from Zeke#1 and Sam's in some ways...), and the anesthetic metaphor is really nice too :)

I like the way Zeke#2 isn't perfect, but human just the rest of us, and the constant references not just here but in later chapters to the "moment" you might lose, your chance to be a hero, make a difference, stand up, etc. Even if so far poor Zeke hasn't been very lucky, i have high hopes for him, and think all he needs is a little nudge :P

I was definitely even more intrigued about Lawrence in this chapter too (pothead? yes? no? heheh), and instantly disliked Julie (HA! Evil! You dont' fool me! :P)

Also, I have to be annoying now and point something out (i apologise profusely in advance though!) I might be wrong, but i think in this chapter you mention Katie's ribbon is yellow (the one in her hair), and then in the next chapters when you explain the meaning it carries (Calvin, etc. etc.) i think you say it's purple... Sorry if i'm mistaken!

This is an amazing story, I've already read all of it so far but decided to review chapter by chapter because it is just SO worth it :D so cheers to you, PyroWriter, for a great read!

Your first A/N reflects pretty well what i look for in a story *grins* and I have to admit that i loved your story from the very beginning. The way it starts in the middle of the debate, and it takes a moment for the reader to get that (and i love that). “Death is inevitable, so it’s just stupid to be afraid of it. It’s like being afraid to piss or take a shit.” That has to be the best first sentence in a story/book/novel EVER. (Ok, I should stop fangirling wildly now XD)

So, my first thoughts were: I like Lawrence, I like Zeke, I definitely like Sam. Charles is... interesting! "He’s not stupid, but he’s still an idiot." :D Loved that, and Charles, so sweet (because I didn't know about his big bad dark side yet) trying to reach out to Zeke... *snif* All the flashbacks of their hidden relationship are great.

"I wonder if verbal diarrhea is a treatable disease. His fist collided with my face before I could finish the sentence." *gle!* (Sorry if I quote back to you a lot, but i LOVED this). Now that i've read all the rest, I know there is an abundance of slaps, punches and general heated collisions (in a GOOD way though :P another quote is floating along the edges of my memory... Something Zeke said before he and Lawrence went into the garage... something about communicating with their hands? LOL). Also an abundance of trips&falls, conveniently collapsing on hot bod's, etc. but once again, that is not a bad thing at all :P

**QUOTES FOR THE UP-TEENTH TIME:** (and begs for forgiveness for infringing copyright... maybe? yes? no?)

“Yeah, Lawrence can do that,” she said thoughtfully. “But he’s right. You’ve never been pregnant.”

“And you’ve never been gay.”

“Well, I don’t know, this one girl in my bio is pretty fine.”

“Yeah, and my period’s late.”

I should mention that Sam occasionally reminds me a lot of Justin's friend Daphne from QAF (Makyla Smith) in a happyhappy joyjoy kind of sense, especially in the first chapters when they're joking around. I don't know what your opinion of her is, or even if you watch QAF, but i think she's great and i mean it as the highest kind of praise! LOL the cowboy hat is a nice touch too, hehehe

Hm, well I think that's about it for the first chapter (this is already a huge, embarrassingly long, boring review, so i should PROBABLY stop... ; )

Oh, just one last thing: the star entrance of Zeke#2! I must say i didn't know quite what to expect as this chapter ended, but I absolutely LOVED the next chapter, esp. because it's from Zeke#2's PoV, but anyway, that should be in the other review so... Thanks again for an amazing read and keep up the great work!

I've really been sucked in by this entirely, to the point where I'm having to force myself not to read the whole thing all in one go, but actually prise myself away from it, so I don't go to work tomorrow morning acting like a complete zombie and so get fired! Actually a little bit of me is trying to convince myself that I don't really need all that much sleep anyway, and fighting it is very difficult because I like your writing a lot and wish I could read the whole story now!
