I usually don't like these kind of stories, but this one was excellent! Its was written beautifully and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Wow. Intense. And really beautiful. That whole thing, it was timed perfectly. The gradual build up of the tension and then the final explosion of emotion, just wow. I don't think anything I've read in ages has screamed with this much emotion. The only thing that wasn't absolutely perfect was this line here "As though inside he's not beginning to panic." The expression there just seemed a little convoluted and not altogether in keeping with the overall feel of the piece. But still...just the level of language and everything here... I mean, other than that one little thing it's practically perfect. It's just light years ahead of virtually everything else I've read here. Seriously. I don't say that lightly. Wow.

I think I'm starting to catch on to the type of story that you like to write...

All your stories, the plot lines, the characters, seem to have no future, no hope. It's almost like a snapshot of their life, in that moment, without the pressure to do the "follow-up". Lol, do I make any sense? I bet it's very fun to write these pieces, and it also leaves the readers a lot of room for imagination.

It serves as a very refreshing break after reading a long novel where it's basically a sin if it doesn't end happily.

I really like the atmosphere and the setting of this particular story, but I can't help feeling a bit regretful with the whole... bleak situation. All the same, thanks for sharing!
