| half-sketched.staccatos chapter 1 . 7/19/2007
"A six-year-old's first murder."
"She's ripping out her pigtails"
"The greatest sorrow/Is the sorrow/Of childhood's end."
My three favorite lines (7 lines actually, but who's honestly counting?). I thought they were so beautiful and so heartbreaking and so *true*. The worst thing in the world is when a child grows up. There's a quote I once read: "You know a child is growing up when he starts asking questions that have answers." I think those are the exact words. Anyway, this poem reminded me of that. I loved this. It was so anguished.

Wow. The shortness of this is very powerful! Excellent poem. Write on!

so sad...the lines about pigtales and such are so vivid. Especially the last three. Great work.

Good job, very original. I loved the line "A six-year-old's first murder" It really sums up the tragedy that is not believing in magic anymore
