|Reviews for Is Utopia Possible?|
| The Thinker chapter 1 . 1/9
No, a utoipa is not possible because man is corrupt. Remember that we always need a system to keep order in society. The system is controlled by men and their own beliefs. If some immoral system starts the utopia nullifies itself and the society becomes a distopia. Also, giving a man power above other men corrupts the man. He will abuse his power. If the first leader doesnt abuse his power, or even the 2nd leader after him, or the third, we know that eventually someone will come along those lines and utterly destroy the economy. The last thing i would like to state is if a utopia is even perfect. To some people the utopia may feel like an economy holding you back. Forcing you to always do the right thing. Man isnt only immoral and corrupt, but also curious and competitive.

I think, sadly, that you are correct in your assessment of the human species. I wish, though, that a Utopian world were possible. Have you ever read Utopia, by Sir Thomas More? You might find dystopian books, like Brave New World (Alduous Huxley) and Nineteen Eighty Four (George Orwell) interesting.

I would just like to point out that for an essay it's rather short. Your statements should be longer and thorough. You also need specific factual information that would point out why Utopia is not possible other than saying that 'Utopia cannot exist because of crime'. I'm not trying to flame you but trying to help you...
I agree with your statements but it's a good essay.

Also seeing as there will always be hate and discrimination, and crimes against those hated.

| Vivix chapter 1 . 4/1/2006
It's the simple definition of utopia that barrs its existence. "Utopia" does not mean 'good place,' but it's a rough latin mish mash of 'no place.'
