Reviews for Don't Cry Emo Kid
A. C. Oasis chapter 1 . 6/25/2006
No way. Sylvia Plath was an amazing female poet. J D Salinger was a fucking emo kid. lol.
Spazmaqueen chapter 1 . 4/18/2006
Overall I found it really amusing!

I do think it would the Sylvia Plath point would have been a bit more convincing if you had referenced more than one of her poems.

1. Sylvia Plath fans tend to be really, really freaky obsessive: be warned.2. Most poets are kinda emo. The whole prostituting-out-your-emotions-for-strangers-to-read thing? Yeah. Not that it isn't much superior to non-emo poetry: "Daddy, you bastard" beats pretty poems about daffodils (die, Wordsworth, die!) any day...

(Of course there are exceptions to both 1 and 2. But sweeping generalisations are more fun.)

lili brik chapter 1 . 4/9/2006
i realized this the other day as i read 'the bell jar' and noted how much it resembled certain 'autobiographical' works on this site...the ones that i usually leave slightly jeering reviews on. (i know it's mean, but honestly,...the melodrama)oh well. she did actually manage to kill herself in the end (albeit accidentally-she expected that someone would come in to save her in time), which is more than most of the emo kids who threaten it can say.
Formerly chapter 1 . 4/9/2006
Amusing. But comparing Sylvia Plath to emo kids is disrespectful to emo kids around the globe, because as hateful and deserving of death as the average emo kid is, emo's one redeeming feature is that it's not Sylvia Plath.
Banana Mint - M. Bohara chapter 1 . 4/9/2006
We read way too much Sylvia Plath in English class.

why are you so bothered anyway?
