leavemeialone chapter 20 . 9/12/2012
I have seriously been going through all your stories. They are so amazing. This is amazing. I probably don't even need to let you know because you already know all of this. I like seeing so many dimensions in your character. They are not just another pretty face. They have problems. They work it out. They are funny, sarcastic, and witty. How could you not fall for these characters?!
mareecee chapter 20 . 9/10/2012
Amazing story. Definitely one of my favourites on FP.
It was slower paced then many, but that is no criticism. I think that is what helped with the realism of the story. That along with the lack of overdramatisation that so many authors go for. It was very much a story that could be true. The characters were well developed and and very likeable. I really liked Andrew too. I went to school with a deaf girl and could see many of the things she went through in his character. Overall, well done. Hope you shall be writing more stories in the future!

Don'tStopMeNow chapter 20 . 6/28/2012
Why are you so awesome? Seriously?

This was truly a story about honest and genuine love. It freaks me out how real their love felt and after reading I thought without a doubt in my mind, they are staying together forever.

This was agonizingly slow at times, honestly I had to take many breaks. But I always came back. That extremely slow pace was what I hated yet loved about this tale of Donovan and Piper because not only did you take the time to show everything that was happening in their surroundings, but it molded them into realistic breathing characters plus you made sure every character was well-developed.

Honestly this may be my favorite story I read on fictionpress. It was just too real not to be. I loved how strong Piper was and the ne'er do well -ishness that Donovan had.

Here is a story that had actual substance. I realized the problem I found with most stories I read. There was always an air of a crush or liking someone, but rarely any true love. There was always actions that represented love making it convincing, but it fell apart because the conviction, dialogue, progression, none of it really convinced me into believing that the characters would do these crazy romantic gestures. But these two, sold me completely. They definitely deserved each other. (But I'm a little jealous of Piper seeing as I have developed quite the crush on Donovan).

I have to say I was a bit upset when Donnie's little sister said, 'after I slept through that snooze-fest about a jury.' I was in disbelief that someone didn't absolutely love 12 Angry Men.

What made this just perfect on top of the story itself were the allusions to books and movies that I loved. I laughed really loudly when Donnie said that his favorite book was Catcher in the Rye because of how perfect that choice was. The whole misunderstood teenager type thing going on.

If you're still reading bravo! Anyways as a side note I reviewed "Eulogies..." and said it was confusing that she didn't realize that the person sending her all the quotes was that guy (forgot his name). That was short-sighted, border-line stupid on my part, if it's in real-life if something like that happened to anyone it would have been something along the lines of, 'Is it him?...Yeah right. Let's not flatter yourself/that only happens in movies.' It was because I had the hindsight of knowing it was a story that I said something like that.

Wow that was a lot longer than I thought this review would be. Main point: great story, excellent progression, great writing style.

You've done a great job in this chapter in having the main characters communicate their slowly growing interest in each other without making it seem rushed or predictable. They are like scientists, slowly circling a newly discovered object that fell from the sky.
leavesfallingup chapter 5 . 6/26/2012
The opposite of Love is not Hate, it is Indifference. She is doing a great job of pushing all of Donovan's buttons.
leavesfallingup chapter 4 . 6/26/2012
Donavan was looking okay for a bit, but the fact that he saw the death of Key as an opportunity to break through Piper's walls makes him a user and loser. You will have to write very well from this point to make him anything but the ass that he is.

The only problem with these "falling in love with the bad boy" stories is that reality is most often ugly. The bad boys who mistreat their girlfriends in high school most often become the abusive men who beat their wives and children. The users continue to use people, leaving a trail of broken people behind them in their climb to whatever they seek.

Sorry for the soap box, but my life has been steeped in reality, so the cliche'd fantasy has little appeal. I will continue reading to see where you take this story from here.
leavesfallingup chapter 2 . 6/26/2012
I love how you have Piper's POV show us that Dono's interpretation of what is happening is completely and totally off. Then again, perhaps it is evidence of Piper's incredible poker-face.

Either way, it is entertaining to read.

A good beginning. You made me want to read more... which I shall do now.
loveofallthatisawesome chapter 20 . 6/19/2012
Oh my gosh, so amazing! I love how even though this story started off with a bet, it totally wasn't cliche and the bet was almost completely forgotten by both parties.

It was also so amazing to see how Piper's and Donovan's relationship grew over the time they spent together. I can't believe they were friends for two years before they finally got together. It didn't even feel that long and I was kind of sad to see them grow up from when they were both 15 to when they were 18 and 19. But it was so cute! I love Piper. She's so different from any other character I've ever read about. And I love Donovan because he became such a great friend to Piper. I'm also glad you didn't constantly write about him sleeping around and going to parties. It was mentioned but you only put the scenes in if they were necessary.

Another thing I loved was how consistent you made them! No matter the age, their personality stayed completely the same.

I don't even know, but this story was awesome and I feel like I really know Piper and Donovan and I love them and I'm definitely going to miss them now that I've finished reading the story :D

dreeming chapter 20 . 5/17/2012
This. I can not tell you how much I love love love this. The pace is amazing, and you made it all so realistic and beautiful and just plain awesome. Totally fell in love with the plot, and Piper and Donovan and everything else. Ahh, I'm going to miss them
HoneyBuns chapter 20 . 4/29/2012
I really enjoyed this story. I pretty much agree with everything the comment before this says. I was expecting cliche story line but their friendship's evolution felt so natural. It was very well written. I do wish we knew what Andrews problem was when he went off to college, that was never really explained fully. I loved this story and I'll be reading, and enjoying, all of your others :)
