I feel so sorry for her mother, to have to let go of the one you love, just because he's a soldier. And then keep seeing him every day. It would probably rip me apart.

That's one of the best things in your story! All these raw emotions that we can still relate too, even though the story is set way back in time.

Re-reading this, I'm reminding just how beautiful it is. I can see your words like a picture in my mind, and I keep seeing them even after I finish reading. I absolutely adore this story. When it is published, I will buy so many copies I will single-handedly put you on the best seller's list (well... maybe not quite that many, but I'll try). Keep the work up, it's going well! The only question I have is how do you pronounce Lucas's dad's name now?
