This is a wonderfully uplifting story. It's so nice when we can remember things that are over with a smile rather than sadness. (Oh, yes, I'm sure there's a *hint* of that in there, too, but overall the feeling is "comfortable")

Reminds me of the Quote of the Day on breezy nostrils site. ( ~breezynostrils) (and which I inadvertantly accredited to you somewhere else...oops, sorry breezy!) But it bears repeating...over and over...like a mantra...

"don't cry because it's over; smile because it happened"

Which sentiment is exactly what your poem embodies. Great piece!
