Oh...my... was MUST do me a favor and never, NEVER ever...let that poem get away from you. I've let quite a few get away from me and well...anyway. That was so wonderful, I have tears in my eyes. NO joke. No lie.

Very nicely written... I felt you were talking to me. It made me feel guilty! guilty for trying to take your friend's dreams away, for telling her to let go of her imagination.

Your poem reminds me of a friend I once had. She loved to make up plays and perform them. We were her actors and she was the director, actor and playwright. But we grew up into teenagers and that became boring. We became interested in music, movies, and experimented with make-up and in developing our own fashion sense. And I feel we left her behind.. She wanted to make plays but most of "big kids" would volunteer to be either Audience or once we were in the play... we had no imagination and the play would fall flat. I remember thinking "When will she grow up and figure that plays were soo boring!"

So when I read your story.. it dawned on me that why would I want to hang her imagination "in order to keep(my) harsh reality alive"? Thanks,
