I have enjoyed reading this story and I like the way you developed you characters, they seem realistic - if such a thing can be told for supernatural story :) I think you have handled well Aaliyah's and Vance's interactions, there seems to be no time for Aaliyah to realize the situation and that makes it more interesting. I also like the fact that we are not over-flooded with descriptions of how good looking the characters are ;) I am intrigued since I can't quite figure how the story will continue, especially with Jessy now being able to walk (btw, Jessy seems to be an interesting character) But, please, I would rather not see Aaliyah become hysterical over the situation, I like the way she handles herself! As for someone getting offended with the story, well, its not your fault if people can't realize that this is simply a story.

Lastly, concerning this: "“—everything has been happening ever since you started working for him.” Staring at her food, she wondered if Vance had a part in what had happened between William and herself."

I was under the impression that William and Aaliyah were growing apart and that Aaliyah knew it and it was a matter of time, even before she started working (even though Vance did speed thing up). Or was it all subtle manipulation? Xmm...
