Can't say I saw that one coming. I feel so sorry for Cassie, because it seems like she's gone mad because her brother loved her too much. And because she loved him back it's all gone wrong. I not sure what's going to happen next, but I have an idea. Hopefully I'm wrong. Great writing, definitely different from your more cheery Trouble and those characters. Odd thought of Quentin meeting Cassie then - fairly weird scenario. Don't worry I'm not saying I want to see it, it just struck me! Anyway again, brilliant writing, can't wait for the next installment.

I know that what charles did was wrong, and I know that he probably loves her a bit TOO much, even if he'll never go -there-, but I still feel a little bad for him.

I feel worse for cassie. She's SO in trouble now? I guess there's always the option of suicide, but yeah.

I think that even though conner isn't there, maybe he was there symbolically. well I mean. to cassie he WAS there in every sense, but I mean, in charles as well.

Or maybe she's just totally gone! Well, this was thrilling. I can't wait for the next chapter. thank you for writing such a gem.

Is Cassie schizophrenic? Ack. She killed Charles. I'd say "poor" Charles, but he was keeping her in a prison.

This story is just briliant! The characters are so twisted! Connor is so evil and Cassie so crazy, Charles, well Charles is both :D But he has a cute and loving shield to hide the bad things about him!

This story never fails to give me the shivers... I find myself disliking Charles more than I dislike Connor and the last FAQ just added to it. He's not a person who I'd like to meet in real life...

This story reminds me in some twisted way of the Decimus-Junia-Markus relationship in Rome. Of course, Markus had feelings for Magnus and lusted after many, many women; and I don't think Connor had feelings for his cousin ;), but he and Connor have that magnetic, EVIL personality [although Connor is more understated]. He was a half-brother to Junia just as Connor is to Cassie.

Decimus, I feel, is a fitting ancestor to Charles :D. They both are freaks-of-nature with unhealthy obsession for their sisters ;). Although Charles' relationship with Cassie is less physical.

And lastly, Cassie; she has the same, thing going for her as Junia did. And I always felt that Junia loved Decimus too.

I'm curious; did you get inspiration for this story from that relationship in Rome? I always thought that that triangle - if you could call it that - deserved its own story… So, the final chapter is coming up; I wonder if either Cassie or Charles will die? And Eidolon means "a phantom of a living-being", doesn't it? A reference to Connor, I suppose. I'm jealous; how do you pick your titles? Chiaruscoro, Parhelion, Tears and Eidolon. Love them all :D (the titles AND the storied, hehe). All of them - with the exception of a relatively calm Parhelion - stories with a definite sad feel [at least towards the end].

Anyway, can't wait for the next chapter! Lovely work, as usual :D.

so conner is not really there n ade up by her imagination? but to be honest...i don't really like charles either. n i hope she doesn't get jealous...although fat chanc of that happening. LOVE it!

Connor reminds me of a vocab word i learned. Incubus. it means a demon that likes to have sex with sleeping women. you know, except connor isn't really a demon, just a "ghost" :D

This is really screwed up...

this is utter brilliance! It was, as you said, murky, to begin with, but after a few chapters, when I finally gained a grasp on what was going on, it's chilling! Brilliantly written, truly great! Can't wait to read the rest :)

The only thing I know is that Connor and Charles are sick, twisted, power-hungry bastards who would do anything in order to get what they want. Cassie seing Connor makes me think that deep down she suspects Charles, and knows that everything wasn't all Connor's fault. As for why Charles killed Mr. Wyman, well, it seems to me like his line of thinking was "she's my toy, you can't play with her", the same reason why he killed Connor. I don't think that everything was about the company, but rather it has to do with a deep unhealthy obsession with his sister. Sick, sick man. And Berland is a son of a *#$%. Why he's doing what he is doing is beyond my comprehension, I guess he grandly benefits from the whole situation, but he must really be a piece of work if he knew that a young girl was being abused by her older brother and didn't do anything to stop it. And then covered that said brother was killed by his own siblings. Etcetera. I hate him. I can't wait for another chapter!

P.S.: Wasn't Medea the one that killed her sons to get revenge? I think she was Jason's wife or something, I'm not quite sure... I'll have to google it.
