Reviews for Is God Evil? In response to an earlier essay |

![]() ![]() ![]() God did not give us the capability to be evil, but the capability to CHOOSE. He wants to have a deep, close, spiritual relationship with us, but he doesn't force it on us. God is a benevolent type. Purely good. He wants us to do what's right. Satan, the Devil, is melevolent. Satan wants us to choose the oppositenof Gods will and to be permenently seperated from God. We as humans are stuck in the middle and must choose. |
![]() ![]() ![]() "This is mostly wrong, although there is a part of it that is true. I, myself, have a younger sister who is just turning two years old. During her first year of birth, she showed many of the signs of “animal” hunger, pain, and exhaustion, but still she knew WHO to call for, and WHERE her mother was! Would an animal know this? No! If a lioness goes out to hunt for her cubs, and another lion attacks the cubs, would the lion cubs be able to cry out to its mother to help? No, it wouldn’t! Would a human child be able to call out for his or her mother? Yes, no matter how old they are!" This is wrong. A lot of baby animals can and will call to their parents for help if they are under threat. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Awesome! If people read the Bible, it specifically states that God gave us free will. The evil in the world came from us giving the devil the authority that God had given to us. The evil one therefor, being evil, used the power for evil, obviously. When Jesus died, he went to hell, kicked the devil's butt, then arose from the grave, returning with the authority, to give to all those who believe in Him. You wrote this quite well, stuck to the facts, stated everything in a calm, not lashing-out fashion. Very good, I loved it! |
![]() ![]() I loved your work. Really. And I strongly agree with you, hoping you will continue to strive in your areas of expertise! I love you! Charlotte |
![]() ![]() ![]() Oh wow, FANTASTIC essay! I agree, COMPLETELY! I applaud you for writing, tackling, this subject too! Bravo! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Oh! Oh! I love you so much. I haven't read yet... but I love you anyway. Bring it on Baby! Ok... lets see... |
![]() ![]() ![]() Does anyone ever look at the fact that God existing, is next to pretty much IMPOSSIBLE? He didn't create life, and he didn't give us 'sentience', or intelligence or whatever you can think of. Time, science, and evolution gave us that. We WERE just a bunch of primitive...idiots, if you will go with that, but some higher being didn't come and make us smart. God gave us nothing, because he is NON EXISTANT. He is a symbol of 'good', and is only there for people to believe in 'him', so they have some reassurance in not going to Hell. Plus, it helps the human fear of 'the unknown', explaining everything with ridiculous religous beliefs. Funny thing is, everything you can't explain with God, can be explained with science and other BELIEVEABLE therioes, ten times over. |
![]() ![]() ![]() haha that essay made me pause for a sec but since God is a human idea we're evil not God |
![]() ![]() Am I evil? Yes I am. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Following on what Max said, you seem to be arguing on a limiting of the "omnipotence" facet of God. If God isn't omnipotent in your worldview, then that's fine. Feel free to discuss this matter on my forum if you don't understand what I mean by this. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Yes, yes . . . MrFlames is deliriously evil. But, eh, what can you do? |
![]() ![]() ![]() None of your arguments make any sense if you assume that God is omnipotent, omniscient, and benevolent. |
