I love this story, but WHY does the last update have to be 3 years ago? Will it be updated? I'll be super super super sad if I'll never know the ending...! T_T

I notice that you use the word 'Touché' in this chapter. Thinking about it, these people are ancient Romans and that word was Old French. Cayla is from Gaul and even though that is France it was a Celtic country then as you have mentioned, she speaks Gallic. Would people of an ancient world be using Old French words that we use? Sorry to be a spoil sport but it just got me thinking and perhaps you used to word for the effect of what it means. Enjoying the story so far :)

Okay...I sat here and in one day devoured 32 chapters and am immersed in this story. Excellent plot and intriguing characters that stay IN character so well.

I'm not going to lie though, I have this hate/love relationship with Cayla. I liked her a bit more in the beginning and found her a strong character, and I understand her growth through the story but there are times when I just want to take a frying pan and hit her over the head repetitively. I still can't help but love her at the same time from the loyalty she shows towards Juliana. Though her relations with Cauis feel wrong to me. No offense! It's well written and I can see how her feelings led to him but I just feel like there's nothing in the relationship that will end well for either.

My favorite characters though are Brutus and Conner. Their chemistry is absolutely wonderful. At first I wasn't to interested in Juliana and Brutus, but after a while Brutus really bloomed into a wonderful person. Is it weird that I felt like you were going to kill him off? And I admit I have a crush on Conner. He's the underdog in the little lover circle and I root for him constantly! He deserves a good lady! Preferably not Cayla though, perhaps Anya? I relate to Anya more then anybody! I just love her attitude when Cayla tells her she didn't go back with Rian!

Another thing! (sorry long review!) Juliana and Stepi...Stepdepidus...yeah I can't think of how to spell his name right now but anyways I can't help but wish something good to come outta it. Sure Stepemusus is an major dweeb and beats on her. But I hope maybe he'll learn from her how to actually take care of a woman. Juliana and Cauis are actually my least favorite characters though. Idk why the two just bug me. They never actually go for what they want (or at least that's what I feel)

I'm completely, head over heels in love with this story! Please don't abandon it! Ciaus (sp?) is the man, and I really want him and Cayla to end up together! Fuck all the other girls! "The Thracian is up to 67 kills and will be fighting I hear" is that a reference to Spartacus by any chance :)? That would be amazing! Especially since he was a legendary gladiator! Pls update soon!

Anyway, so far, it is well written and definitely interesting.

I love your story so far and im definatly going to keep reading. The only thing is that you have an error during the gladiator games.

Im in latin at my school and historically when the emperor was going to announce if the gladiator is to be killed or not, a thumbs down means hes spared, and a thumbs up means hes to be killed. A thumps up signifies the knife going into their throat. Its like this in the movie gladiator (i think) if youve seen it. But other than that your facts/descriptions are really accurate!

This story is simply a masterpiece. I absolutely love it. Caius has got to be one of my favorite characters, along with Cayla, Brutus, Marcus, Julianna, and Connor. Brutus and Julianna are so strong in dealing with thief situation. I was thinking that maybe they'd end up kind of like Romeo and Juliet did. But then I also thought it would be cool if Brutus and Julianna did have a child with their respective spouses, the children could be of the opposite gender and then grow up and marry each other. I really really really like Caius and Cayla together. They would make a such a beautiful and entertaining couple. Now all that's needed is for Caius to fall in love with her...

I hope you update soon because I can't wait to read about what happens next!

Ok it took me forever to read up to this point in the story and i love it! There is sooo much drama that it's hard not to read :) I think cayla and caius need to be together! I just wish caius would give her a chance. When i found this story i wasn't to sure i'd read it but im glad i did. I was surprised to see that this story was published in 2006 and not finished yet. Hopefully you guys will finish it soon because it is sooo addicting! There are sooo many things that still need to be cleared up! so many questions that need answers. I do hope you guys update this :) I'll be waiting!
