yay! another chapter! i know some other chapters of this story is on file on RMWM but if i read that, then i'll be too lazy to read the chapter on fictionpress and review. so yeah. i might not resist one day to hold in my curiosity over what's going to happen next but i'll try. anyways, nice chapter. lots of action going on, very nicely written. talk to you at RMWM and on my next review!

I cannot believe David tackled Dan. I mean, I can because that's entirely normal - I think - but still. Poor little David must be confused, but then again so should the rest of her family. They probably think she's some kind of psycho super-freak idiot for worrying about the guy who held her at gun point. That whole situation made me wonder what MY family would have done in that situation or if my brother would tackle someone like that.

Cori is awesome. I can relate to her a lot better and her personality has come out a lot more. I'm actually shocked she held in the crying and fear that long because if I were in her position, I would be freakin' bawling the second Nick told me I couldn't contact my family.

Anyway, Dan and Smack don't seem to be as bad as they were before. I mean, past the lecher drug-seller facade, they're pretty chummy guys. They did save Cori and Nick's ass big time, after all. But what did the whole exchange between Nick and Smack mean when he said 'After this, we're even'? Besides the obvious, was there more behind it? Just curious.

This chapter was good. I seriously can't wait until you update. I applaud you for coming up with such a unique and kick-ass story line and plot! Your writing style is good to say the least and I've really enjoyed reading what you've written so far. Despite a few typos and grammatic errors(that's not a complaint, believe me. And we're all human right?), this is a great read. One of my favorites, to be honest.

I proudly announce that I caught several of the nicknames and words in Russian. I knew everything but Ohrenyet. But I'm sure i've heard it before!

Anyway, Ohmigawd Nick kicks butt! I REALLY want to know what he did to the freak asian dudes. And why he couldn't tell their mom. I mean, besides the obvious reason of 'oh hey ma, i was almost killed today' kind of thing but there's obviously some other reason for not telling. Smack is an interesting name or nickname. But it sounds cool nonetheless.

I like Katie and I love the relationship you've created between her and Nick. It reminds me of the relationship I have with my older brother Chris except without all the superpowers thing going on. By the way, I like Cori a whole lot more now. She seems completely likable and real. Though she's right about her mother - she IS a nightmare. Loud and noisy. Blegh.

Question: was the Firebird painting and Artem's name a refference to the Firebird series? Because you get major props if it is. )

I congratulate you on creating realistic characters. Especially Nicholas. When he finds out about her learning disability, he acts like a normal human unlike what some authors would do. You know, pretend to not feel sorry for her or just mumble a quick 'sorry'.

I really like him so far. He's sarcastic and I love that. Plus he's Russian. ;)

I'm not sure if I like Cori just yet just because she seemed to be an emotional wreck in this chapter. But I'm sure that'll melt away soon enough and that she'll probably be just as awesome as Nicholas.

This chapter is fantastic. It jumped right into the element of action, suspense and surprise.

I'm really curious of what Max's power is exactly. Mental powers, obviously but what else can he do? I guess I'll have to wait and see. But whatever it is, it sounds bad ass! It's sad Max died. It was so sudden! But bullets can do that.

I can't wait to see where this story will go. It looks awesome!

p.s. I have a very big fascination with Russia and the culture and language so I love the fact that the main character is Russian. I have a group of friends from Russia who are slowly, but surely, teaching me Russian so I'm pretty excited about that. Anyway, I'm going to quit rambling and read the next chapter!
