There are some tense issues in the prologue, drifting back into past tense. The fourth paragraph is entirely in past tense. I absolutely love the whole "one goes up and the other down thing" and I'm kind of getting the feeling that the whole story is going to follow this course. Whenever something good happens, something bad happens too. One goes up, the other down. I don't know. Whe it's really neatful. I'll have to read the rest later, but never fear, for I shall! *superman pose, runs off into the distance* ...yeah...
