SheldonTheWhale chapter 13 . 10/31/2016 Jesus fucking Christ man, I havent read something that fucked up in a while. Still, creepy and sick as it was I really enjoyed it. The funny parts were properly funny and the creepy parts sent chills down my spine. So congratulations on a job well done. |
Guest chapter 1 . 10/24/2016 Indeed, as others have posted, no matter the length of time I still come back to this story. The writing is quite a feat. I'd love to be able to speak to the author, ask so many questions, but I guess that will only happen in a nightmare. |
morningstorm70 chapter 13 . 10/19/2014 Truly morbid and off the wall |
justanotherdot chapter 11 . 7/26/2014 This is the second time I'm reading this and it's still as morbidly fascinating and dark. It's beautiful in the way that it shows the disturbing form David's mind is turning into and the unbiased storytelling. |
Reader chapter 13 . 6/6/2014 Even years on, I still remember this fic (the exact title and the concept!) and I still fucking love it. The horror and fascination gnawed at me; a sense of utter forbidden and threatening intrigue and I couldn't stop reading: every word every paragraph lovingly written and oh so wrong. That was the first time I read it. After a reread, I can really appreciate the humour in this. It's your style of writing: flows and ebbs and laced with something-some dry kind of wit, a subtle snarkiness, a conscious awareness of tropes and cliches that you invoked and subverted with glee. Yes, I giggled. Had some kind of delirious cackling and smiles, and the end!-unpredictable, saddening but also strangely satisfying and infuriating in its perverted (poetic)justice. No other fic has inspired such alarming joy in me. Thankyou. Love, Reader |
Testimony to Christians chapter 4 . 5/14/2014 I don't know what I would do if I had to wait chapter per chapter for this, it is captivating. You definitely capture the morbid fascination that David is going for because I can't stop reading. There are a few typos throughout but easy to overlook given they are far between. I love the thoroughness of it and the slow reveal of this eerie change in David's character. The whole tone is just too perfect - you have skill! Usually stories that are so free of dialogue tend to bore me but this is one of the most interesting pieces I've read (fictionpress or otherwise). I love character oriented/driven pieces and this is definitely meeting the bill on that one. I will 100% finish reading this when I get a chance! |

Kaylin chapter 13 . 5/5/2013 ... Wow. ... O _ O |
the old contemptible chapter 1 . 4/7/2013 We decide it is art. We don't decide it is death porn. Well, maybe some people do. Like me. Anyway, disregard the typos. It's late where I live. What can I say? |
the old contemptible chapter 12 . 4/7/2013 Because we cannot quite comprehend why the story turns us on, or what is so horrifying about it, we put it on a pedestal and decide it is is death porn. Death porn is shocking, but it is not art. It makes me wonder why no one celebrates "Peace XII" your other lovingly written work of death porn, as art, though the story is practically the same. Perhaps this is all some giant David-Bowie-style hoax, and the point of the story is that it's not really all that deep. Perhaps this really is serious: a sex-death-pop-philosophy mash-up. Either way, das ist mir egal, as we say in German. Perhaps this is serious: a porn-philosophy-death |
the old contemptible chapter 13 . 4/7/2013 Many people have been saying many good things about this story, but I don't think there's anything particularly remarkable about it. It's quite well-written; that is true, and the visceral manner it's written in makes it quit compelling. The main question is: is this story art? Certainly, a lot of folks have been saying that. In my opinion, this story is art in the same way that Lovecraft is art: it touches that tiny little twisted fuck that dwells in every human. It's Gothic pulp- designed to shock and tittilate (sic) us. Beyond that, there is nothing. |
EatMoreBread chapter 2 . 1/19/2013 This is incredible. |
stupid stupid girl chapter 13 . 12/11/2012 Most original and fabulously written story I've read in a long time. Loved every word! I always thought I hated stories with minimal dialogue, but this was brilliant. I loved the significance of the eye. David's character is so perfectly fucked up it's both impossible and all too easy to connect with him and not blame him for the terrible things he does. Suuuuuuuuch a crazy fantastic character - you're an amazing writer. Thanks! |
Embittered Egg chapter 9 . 11/9/2012 OHHHH YES THE PERFECT MACABRE, SMUTTY PORN STORY FOR ME TO READ. |
SmileyfaceGurl chapter 13 . 10/1/2012 I fucking loved this. It was so morbid. I love morbid. And might I say, best ending ever. Freezing to death? I would have thought he would have hung himself or something to remind himself of ryan, but he died the best way possable! I think I speak for all horror lovers when I say "Well, fucking done." |
