Oh, I just read this entire story this afternoon. I like it but it has kept me from doing numerous things I told myself I would do today.

In all honesty - you've made a great many mistakes. So when you feel a writer's block coming on, my advice is "just edit". Maybe it will give you some ideas about where this story is going.

On that note, are you sure this pair is made for each other? These reviews are about giving constructive criticism. I think you should sit down and write down the characteristics of Travis and Kat.

She's impetuous, spoilt, used to getting her own way, beautiful, smart, a brat, emotional etc. He is athletic, a player yet idealistic (how did that happen?), controlled and strict. They are both immature. You need to write a list of why their relationship doesn’t work. Then as you are writing, try to cross those things off. Because I can see at this point you are just writing what comes and you can see yourself that it doesn’t feel right for them to be together at the moment.

You've done a great job developing this story. You just need to structure the plot better, which can be done in editing without taking anything away from the story. Have you read anything done by Myrika? If you haven’t, do.

For my example, I suggest “Against All Odds” or “Everybody Hates Logan”. Preferably AAO as it sets up EHL. Then go to her home page website and look up the character pairings.

This should give you an idea of how Travis and Kat pair up. I think you could make them work. They just have to get over themselves.
