Reviews for A Dead Sparrow on the Street
CorkyBookworm1 chapter 1 . 5/2/2017
This is an interesting piece. The imagery is vivid and I loved the tidbit about the seasons. I also really enjoyed the scattered repetition of the title. Certainly thoughtful.

Lovely but sad. Touching in the way you consider it's "life" as an object.
gabbygirl199 chapter 1 . 11/10/2016
What a thought prevoking poem it made think of all the times that i had walked passed a poor sad lonely animal that had died in and around me it made me want to cry for the sorrow of them just being left to rot, without anyone to mourn for their lost lives
theamazinghobit chapter 1 . 9/14/2010
The use of words and structuring in this piece is brilliant and precise. It grasps the loneliness of the little sparrow's death by revealing how its surroundings are affected or in this case 'unaffected' after its death, leaving me with a great deal of sympathy. I especially like the repeated "There's a dead sparrow on the street". Somehow, it acts as a reminder that the sparrow is gone yet at the same time, it doesn't seem to matter as life and earth are still functioning and undisturbed. It makes me wonder, is dieing the scary part..or is it scariest when no one and nothing seems to be affected after our death?

A great piece, great job!
BeliefInSquirells chapter 1 . 2/27/2007
Theres a dead bird on my road where i walk everyday.

After reading this i'll probably cry when i see it.

Beautiful, touching, melancholy.
