It's like watching a sketchty scene in black and white. It's lovely. Sad, but not to the point of being overly cliched. Very nice, MD.

This piece has such an air of loneliness to it. The narrator is by himself through most of this, come to see his mother, who is sick, and aside from the deer in the pasture, there's no one else in this story. It's incredibly sad. Favorite line? "I sit down inside this thought." I just love the sound of that. You write such evocative and real pieces. These all feel like pieces of your life, even if they aren't. It's fantastic. Keep writing! :)

The imagery is so gorgeous here...I almost can't stand it. The reflection to a child-hood memory, the anguish of the medication and bills, the glimmering light of the horse barn, the deer in the field: one can visualize it all.

I love the idea of sitting down inside thoughts:
"I sit down inside this thought."
There's a kind of mellow sadness here, which I like. Good job.
You've written another great poem.
