I absolutely adore this! the fact that ruth isn't a size zero is so gratifying. I was beginning to get sick of fics in which the girls are always beautiful and skinny. you have also made it slightly more unconventional by focusing on the politics and how it comes in the way instead of a straight love story where al the loose ends are neatly tied up, and the characters are perfect saints. thubs up for me! cant wait for the next chap! :)

I really like it so far, but it was indeed incredibly long, lol

okay you seriosuly cannot imagine the smile that took over my face when i read that the email in my inbox was the notification for this story! It seriously made me rather crappy day. I don't really classify it as a filler either, it actually kind of covered a lot, despite not being wordy (your speciality I must admit). COmpared to some of your other chapters, it may appear like one. But its content and such really lent towards the conflict and awkward tension of Ruth's return.
Like Ruth I'm confused by Noah a tad bit, but thats to be expected after such a lapse of time since they saw each other last. I felt the awkwardness that Ruth felt, and her confusion as to the changes the others have gone through and the situations that she missed and should have known about (his graduation ceremony and the like). Of course its going to feel weird too wheneverone else seems to have a purpose and something their rushing about doing, while Ruth is back just for the summer and has to learn everything just about the places and friends (the changes and such) again to a point. I really enjoyed it though and am hoping you update again soon :)
haha and like Noah practically implied, its going to take a while to get to know the new Issac, but i think its going to be fun :) he seems so much more relaxed.
You still have your way with words and knack for imagery. I especially enjoyed the little scene when Ruth is starring out at the view (something I've been known to do) and Noah comes up behind her.

| Can'tstopdancingdada chapter 24 . 1/12/2010
ive been reading thsis tory for a while now. its long and sometimes a bit hard to understand. if you can imagine, polticis isn't really my biggest thing you know, but that doesn't mean i don't like this story. i can't wait for ruth and noah to get to gether for real. can you imagine it. well i guess you can since you write it and all but they just fit together so well. which brings me to my point. i don't usually review anything, but ive noticed its been a few months please tell me your still writing this story. i know you said you were working on other things and i don't mind so much if there taking you preoccupation if your still writing this. oh its going to be a bit werid for ruth and issac and noah wont it now you know with issac marrying ruths sister and all. won't that make it a bit werid. i like it though. nice twist and frankly you need to get her now. update please

I'm not clear on whether Ruth stayed in contact with any of them in the 6 years she'd been gone, or if she hadn't? If I'm right and she had no contact, shouldn't there be a little more tension? Anyway, I think the Elsa bit may be really interesting. You should consider pursuing that, to a degree, as it would create some conflict in a situation where everyone is seemingly happy and getting along.
Looking forward to Jason's appearance.

Wow! I'm really enjoying Ruth's transformation. Witty, sassy, and more grown up. I think the elementary school teacher angle was good, in that sense, because handling a bunch of rowdy kids day in/day out would force anyone to learn to stand their ground. All the guys are eerily nice and easy-going so far (although there is some noted tension Noah seems to be restraining), which worries me for the conflict aspect. Conflict keeps the entertainment flowing- I want a confrontation! :o)
On to the next chapter...

I like the way you drop us into the story and explain things in drabs as you go along. It makes it read more smoothly than if you dropped everything in at the deep end.
It might have been useful to make a bit more of Ruth’s self consciousness about her weight though. Maybe introduce it sooner, or give more time to it when she sees the company dancing. It’s just an opinion though because it felt like it came a bit out of the blue when it was mentioned. That said I think it really adds to her character and makes it more interesting than if she was just a skinny ballet dancer who didn’t have a lot of confidence. It’s good that there’s a reason, and it makes her easier to relate to.
“Suit yourself.” I turned away from him and started walking. In a few seconds, I was cursing myself for not taking the ride. My mother’s voice was hard to listen to when my eyes were tearing from the wind and the cold. I hated the cold. Need to split dialogue form action, it makes it hard to realise who’s speaking.
I agree with Ruth, it is really random that Noah is being so persistently helpful. Although if he was after a replacement for Jenny it makes sense.
You use brake instead of break a couple of times.
I enjoyed Asha’s crazy mischief, and Noah’s covert means of getting dates with Ruth are very apt with him being a future politician. There were some really funny lines as well like ‘welcome to the do house’ and the tampon ruse. Oh, and the interrogation from the boys ending in ‘I am not marrying Noah’. That was good too.
It was a really long chapter with a lot happening in it, and it seemed to cover a lot of time which did make it hard to get to grips with.
